📢 Attention all Limited Companies 📢 Would you like to try leasing an electric van for 6 months, then decide to hand it back with a £0.00 early termination charge? If the answer is yes, then keep reading. Ford Lease have introduced the E-Flex Programme, which is applicable on both the E-Custom and E-Transit. If for whatever reason, you find full electric doesn't work for you, you are not obliged to keep the vehicle and can simply hand it back to Ford Lease with no charges. If you find full electric meets your requirements and you wish to continue leasing the vehicle, then the finance agreement will continue as normal for the term length and contractual mileage originally agreed. We have ample stock of both vehicles, in varying specifications and colours, so please reach out to me on LinkedIn or email me yasmin.brindle@allenmotorgroup.co.uk for more information and a personalised break down of the cost. Remember... you will also receive the £5,000 Electric Vehicle Plug In Grant off the cost of the lease. Periodically, we see news reports that #electricvehicle purchases have “stalled,” and more recently, we’ve seen reports of #automanufacturers laying off workers because #EVsales have not materialized at the hoped-for rate. Do not be fooled by this. The slope of the curve for #electricvehicles may not yet be as steep as some #OEMs might have hoped for, but it is still going up. #Rentalcarfleets should be preparing now for #electricrentalcars. https://loom.ly/rjbLyo0

More Australians than ever are buying electric and hybrid vehicles, a trend likely to continue — but there is also a huge deficit of workers needed to service and maintain them. How to fix the issue? Samantha Johnson, CEO of the Electric Vehicle Council, tells LinkedIn News Australia there is an urgent need to encourage careers in the EV sector. “There's probably about 40% of electric vehicle technical jobs advertised that are actually filled at the moment so we really do need a lot more people coming into the industry,” she says. Sales of EVs and hybrids are thriving, reveals data from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries with hybrids recording 14.4% of new car sales in June and EVs at 8.3%. These figures are expected to rise as the government’s New Vehicle Efficiency Standard laws, which imposes limits on emissions from new vehicles, will come into effect on January 1, 2025. The automotive sector, including the Motor Traders' Association of NSW and Victoria’s Kangan Institute, are among those stepping up EV-specific training for experienced and apprentice mechanics. But Johnson says cost is a factor, with $5,000 needed to upskill workers for an EV role. See Johnson’s tips to bolster Australia’s EV workforce in the video below, and share your insights in the comments. Electric vehicles (EVs) present a tremendous opportunity for Australia, spanning from manufacturing to innovation. The supply chain costs of raw materials from mining demonstrate that Australia is uniquely positioned to leverage its resources for EV manufacturing. Establishing EV manufacturing locally will foster the development of new and diverse skills, which can be particularly motivating for younger generations, such as my children. Additionally, there are significant opportunities for innovation. For example, research and development can focus on EV charging technologies, the role of AI, and advanced methods to recycle materials, including petrochemical-based products like tires and car interiors. Come on, Australia—EVs are a fantastic opportunity!
