Does an all electric Ford Transit van logistically work for a business like The Conker Distillery ?! YEP! I started out a sceptic, and quickly became one of those people that wants to talk to you about electric vehicles… 😬 A range bigger than your bladder. And it’s quicker than most things on the road. What more do you need?! A heated Steering wheel? ✅ And once plugged into our 100% sustainable power at the distillery, we can make huge gains towards our 2030 Net Positive ambitions. Thank you Ben Clark at the Foray Motor Group for the experience ✌🏻 #etransit #etransitcustom #ford #electricvehicles #sustainability

Our Green Caliper makes sustainable more sustainable! https://ow.ly/PpBL50S8hFX We are proud to be part of a great project, where trainees from Volkswagen Group Retail Deutschland and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have highly increased the sustainability of an already sustainable vehicle: the VW ID. Buzz Green 🍃🚐. Their mission was to enhance the sustainability of the ID. Buzz by focusing on the use of sustainable raw materials and natural resources, as well as extending the vehicle’s range. Our Green Calipers were leveraged to achieve this goal, especially since these brake calipers were developed specifically for use in electric vehicles. Our Green Calipers help extend the range of the vehicle due to a smart downsizing approach leading to significant weight reduction. #Sustainability #ContinentalAutomotive #BrakeSystems #electricvehicles #VGRD Images: © Volkswagen Group Retail Deutschland

🚗🔍 General Motors Faces $146 Million Penalty for Emissions Failures Recently, General Motors (GM) agreed to pay a hefty $146 million penalty to the federal government due to 5.9 million of its older vehicles failing to meet emissions and fuel economy standards. This comes after findings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed that certain GM models from 2012 to 2018 did not comply with federal fuel economy requirements. Key Points: - GM’s pickup trucks and SUVs emit over 10% more carbon dioxide on average than initially claimed. - They will cancel 50 million metric tons of greenhouse gas credits and 30.6 million gas mileage credits. - Affected models include the Chevy Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, and Chevy Silverado. - Vehicle owners are not required to take any action, as there are no defects in the vehicles. GM has stated that it followed all pollution and mileage certification regulations and attributes the issue to a change in EPA testing procedures implemented in 2016. This penalty is a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges in balancing vehicle performance with environmental standards. 🌍 Embracing Carbon Offsets: A Transitional Solution As we navigate this transitionary period, carbon offsets present a valuable tool for reducing emissions. By investing in projects that reduce greenhouse gases, companies and individuals can counterbalance their carbon footprint, fostering a more sustainable future while automotive technology continues to advance. 💡 Let’s continue to innovate and support solutions that drive us towards a greener tomorrow. ☕ Thursday Tea-time Trivia 🤔 Today, Ford Motor Company is at the forefront of moving towards vehicle electrification with more and more hybrid and full electric vehicles being introduced. But, did you know that as far back as the 1930s some Ford factories were powered by biofuels? This just goes to show that all those years ago, Henry Ford was aware of the human impact on the environment and indeed the planet. Obviously, we can't forget Ford's deep-rooted legacy of powerful, performance-driven engines that have captured the hearts of driving enthusiasts for decades. But, as the world evolves, so does Ford. The future is now in the form of the PHEV Ranger — a perfect blend of rugged capability and forward-thinking hybrid technology, showing that power and efficiency can go hand in hand. It’s exciting to see how Ford continues to innovate, combining its history with a vision for a greener future. Michael McCulloch MIMI Keith Logan Ryan Crawford

In a post on LinkedIn in January 2021, General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced that the company was taking steps toward what it called "an equitable and inclusive transition to a net-zero-carbon future." This transition included plans to "remove emissions from all our products, including every vehicle we produce, and all of our global operations in the next twenty years." But as one of the most prominent manufacturers of V8-powered pickup trucks and full-size SUVs, Barra noted that the company will utilize carbon credits or carbon capture "where removing emissions is not possible," including instances where certain technologies have yet to be developed.
