I'm brimming with gratitude today. As an executive coach who works with executive-level people, I get to help proven superstars become even more consequential, to make an even bigger difference for their employer. Most commonly I help them discover how to drive even greater results THROUGH others, a little less IN SPITE OF others. That is the essential paradigm shift for sustainable success in the C-suite and broader executive ranks. Every once in a while, I receive an amazing gift, a client who tells their story on social media. Mia Bolton, thank you for telling yours. I'm so honored I got to co-facilitate a portion of your amazing journey. You were a rock star before, and you are even more so now. Thank you for explaining in your lovely way what can be gained from executive coaching. I'm grateful to you beyond measure. My message is this: executive coaching is for elite performers. It's for the leaders of organizations, and those who will be, those individuals who occupy the organization's most influential seats. That is where coaching delivers its greatest return on investment. If that describes you, take a moment to talk to a trained and certified executive coach and ask what you and your business might gain through working with one. Ask really tough questions, questions about ROI, and see how they respond! You might be surprised by what you learn. You need not believe me; take Mia's word for it. #executivecoaching #executivecoach #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #leadershipgrowth
TLDR: Hire an executive coach. Specifically this one. Transitioning from being a doer into any leadership role can be a really challenging transition to make – and in my experience, also one of the most rewarding, when you're intentional about the process and open to learning about what kind of leader you are and how to become the leader you want to be. The most transformative thing I did in this process? Worked with Shane Kinkennon as my executive coach. The impacts of working with him were noticed and felt immediately, not only by me but by the team I led and the leadership team I was part of. The conversations we had years ago continue to guide the way I approach my everyday as Vice President of Communications. I just can't recommend him enough, and I'm enormously grateful to Mixte Communications for giving me this opportunity. You can learn more about Shane and his services below. I encourage you to add it to the top of your professional development list. #executivecoaching #executivecoach #coach #professionaldevelopment #leadership

It seems the inner critics have been playing up. We all have them, and part of the management of them is staying aware, acknowledging them, but not allowing them to drive the car. Every now and again I take my eye off that ball. A coaching and journalling session has enabled me to acknowledge that, understand which of my critters are feeling neglected, and what's behind it (thank you Jennifer Paster Detmer, for your constant support). I hope they are now back on the sofa, where they belong, where I can keep an eye on them, but where they also feel seen and heard. If you are similarly having an inner critic "flare up" perhaps this blog post can help: 5 Ways to manage your inner critic: https://lnkd.in/ePnkvMwY #innercritic #executivecoaching #personaldevelopment #leadershipcoaching #ego __________________________________________________________________________ Here at Start to Thrive, I help organisations develop their leadership potential through training, facilitation, coaching, mentoring and consultancy. Do you have enough time to think? Several of the senior leaders I coach have shared that the expectation to be available at all times or attend online meetings all day long prevents them from doing the deeper thinking for projects or papers that require it. I’ve been suggesting that they block time in their public calendar and call it ‘thinking time’ so everyone can see what they’re doing and that thinking is important. How do you make time to think?

Hire a Life Coach
Ignoring life and executive coaching isn't just a missed opportunity—it's a recipe for disaster. 🚨 Consider the downfall of companies like Blockbuster, which failed to adapt and innovate, ultimately leading to its collapse. Or Kodak, which clung to outdated practices and failed to invest in its future, resulting in bankruptcy. Both companies overlooked critical elements of leadership and adaptability, a mistake that proved fatal. 📉 The stark reality is that ignoring coaching can lead to catastrophic consequences: dwindling morale, mounting stress, and disengaged employees. It hampers leadership effectiveness, stifles innovation, and exacerbates conflicts—creating a toxic environment where productivity and growth plummet. 😔 Without coaching, organizations risk becoming irrelevant, plagued by poor decision-making and a lack of vision. Employees may feel undervalued and unsupported, leading to high turnover rates and a shattered work culture. The result? A downward spiral that can be incredibly difficult to recover from. 💥 Investing in a life and executive coach is not just about enhancing performance—it's about safeguarding your future. A coach provides crucial guidance, fosters resilience, and equips leaders and teams to navigate challenges with agility and insight. 🌟 Don’t wait until it's too late. Avoid the pitfalls of ignoring coaching and invest in your success today. Your organization's future could depend on it. 💪 #LifeCoaching #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipDevelopment #BusinessFailure #InvestInSuccess #CoachingMatters

Doing two jobs: the ‘main’ job and the job of covering up how we really feel ... The title of this article got my attention. When we tell our leaders to “be yourself at work” and share more vulnerability, what stops them? From my years of training with CEOs and senior leaders, I’ve seen it. It’s too risky to try something new or untested when they have the eyes of the whole company on them. “There’s an idea that says anyone in a corporate role is doing two jobs, the one they were hired to do and the other one of covering up how they really feel.” And we know that covering up increases our stress levels, undermines psychological safety, fuels imposter phenomenon and affects how well we perform as individuals and as teams. But, if there isn’t already a culture of learning, testing and showing vulnerability, one person or a handful of people can’t just start it on their own. That’s why I set-up my bespoke senior leadership programmes the way I do. I include 1:1 coaching to give leaders space to try new behaviours with someone outside their business and small group action learning sets so they can practice sharing with peers. This gives leaders an opportunity to practice and become confident. Before they know it, they’re changing how they work with their teams. If you’d like to talk through what support your senior leaders need to create culture change, DM me. I can also help you make the business case in terms of productivity and talent retention. #HRProfs #LeadershipDeveloment #ManagementDevelopment #CultureChange

Let us play a game. Read the questions below and give yourself a score of 5 for every question you answer "NO" to. 1. Can your business operate autonomously without your direct oversight or intervention? 2. Is your organization/team equipped to respond effectively and decisively without your immediate involvement in the event of a crisis or unexpected challenge? 3. Does your business have clear succession plans, ensuring continuity and stability in case of leadership changes? 4. Do you have systems to measure and improve business performance without your constant monitoring? What is your score? Your business requires a structure if you've scored 5 and above. As a leadership coach with over 15 years of experience, I have witnessed firsthand the importance of having a business structure and its impact on organizational success. We all know that delegation is essential for a successful business leader. Knowing that logically is one thing. But it’s often an emotional reason that stops a business leader from delegating (emotions are stronger than logic etc.). So, can you relate to any of these emotional reasons? ➡ A business leader thinks that no one else can match their standards. And so, if they feel they’ll end up doing it anyway, their thinking will be “why waste double the amount of time?” ➡ They’re not good at handing control to someone else. If you’ve started a business, which includes doing everything yourself at the beginning, delegating tasks to others means handing over part of something you have created. And that’s scary for many people! ➡ It’s also good for the ego to be the ‘go to’ expert. Delegating a task to someone else gives them the opportunity to prove they are the also an expert, and possibly better than you! Don’t let emotions get in the way of your success. As Andrew Carnegie once said… “No one will make a great business who wants to do it all themselves or take all the credit.” #delegatetasks #businesssuccess

The Ultimate Guide to Effective Decision-Making: How to Make Smart Choices that Drive Success One of the most important responsibilities for you as a leader is to make tough and important decisions that have strategic importance for your company. For many this comes with decision overload at times, meaning that the stress levels go through the roof and your patience and empathy go out the window. By having strategies in place that help you navigate the decision-making process you can make it so much easier on yourself as a leader and help you make better and more concise decisions. ⏭ Develop a strategic thinking system that makes this process clearer and systemized. ⏭ Gather and analyze relevant information to support your decision-making process. ⏭ Consider potential risks and consequences before making a final choice. ⏭ Gather a team of trusted people to help evaluate the cons and benefits. ⏭ Adapt your approach based on feedback and changing circumstances. ⏭ Use tools like a SWAT analysis to get a better viewpoint. These are just a few tools available, and the point is that being prepared and having the right system in place will make your job a lot easier, and also benefit your health. P.S. What would you add to this list, and is there any point you might disagree on? In that case why? I am Coach Ronnie Your spiritual business coach helping your leadership skills reach new heights.

Executive Leadership Coach | VUCA & Change Management Specialist | Strategy Execution & Transformation Expert | Member of the HBR Advisory Council | Guiding Leaders towards Resilient, High Performing Teams
Organizing VUCA@Work, a free online event on 1-Nov, 13:00-14:30 CET. Harvard University (HBR) called VUCA "It’s crazy out there". I couldn't agree more, we all run into this feeling every now and then, and sometimes more often than we want to... Yes, it has become a trendy managerial acronym: VUCA, short for volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. The characteristics however, are not just trendy. They occur more and more at our workplace, as well as in the world we live in. VUCA characteristics makes it difficult to know how to approach a challenging situation, especially at work. We get mixed and ambiguous information and problems get more complex. The end result is that we get confused, feel insecure and when we ask for help, everyone is seeing the situation slightly (or totally) differently. On 1-Nov 13:00 CET I will deliver the online VUCA@Work workshop. In this live session I will deep-dive on the characteristics of VUCA and provide more handles for dealing with them at work and also in life. Providing some clarity in the the way we can deal with VUCA situations. This web-event will first of all quickly increase your understanding of VUCA. It will also clarify how this impacts the workplace and team dynamics. Of course I will present some coping strategies. EVENT CONTENT: - Discover how VUCA your world already is - What are the characteristics and how can you recognize them earlier? - VUCA and team dynamics - VUCA leadership can be learned, examples - Cooping strategies you can apply - Next steps you can take #VUCA #Leadership #Online #Coaching Book your free ticket here: https://lnkd.in/eZj8E6k6 You can also book for follow-up sessions (also free) that will deep-dive on other aspects of VUCA at the workplace, in more detail or from a different perspective.
