The Festive Season is here! 🎆 🎁 The Indian Festive Season is more than just joy and celebrations; it significantly impacts sectors like services, manufacturing, travel, hospitality, retail, and entertainment. Cultural events inject billions of rupees into the economy, creating numerous job opportunities. According to a recent release by Abhi and Niyu on YouTube, the Ganpati Festival in Maharashtra alone generates around INR 2 lakh crores of additional revenue annually! Festivals like Ganpati, Durga Puja, Diwali, etc not only boost domestic tourism but also attract international travellers, leading to a surge in demand for hotels and restaurants. During this period, the food and beverage industry, especially mithai sales, sees a significant increase. The entertainment industry strategically schedules releases on various platforms to capitalize on the festive season, further boosting revenues. Corporate and Social gifting during the festive season has evolved into a multi-billion rupee industry, driving innovation in products and services to stay ahead. During my tenures at Marriott International - India and TajSATS, the festival season played a vital role in achieving our key performance indicators, requiring meticulous planning and sales forecasting months in advance. The intense competition pushes businesses to innovate their products and services further. As we usher in the Festive Season 2024, I extend my best wishes to my friends in the industry for a successful season ahead. 🙌 #IndianFestivals #EconomicImpact #CulturalCelebrations #Gifting #FestiveSeason #Hospitality

Why do we have so many holidays in India? It's so unproductive. when all the people who are comparing India to China will see how many holidays they have and the difference in individual productivity they will keep quiet. It is only when you interact with companies in both countries as a buyer do you realise what a long way our attitude has to go to be a significant player in global supplies. here there is a wedding or a religious festival or lunch break and what not. even after you get them the TAT is very different as is the quality of the response. I really hope we do something about this. And no I am not talking about Narayana Murthy's 70 hours but a whole attitude and disposition change. With the amount of jabbering that goes on in the country, it is ridiculous that they make you wait for weeks only to tell you that they cannot supply this item or will take ages to deliver another. the same query a supplier in China got back within 12 hours and with all the things you haven't even asked yet, but you would down the line. this is being called prepared. Indian stuff is good, often even better than Chinese stuff. esp equipment but the range is limited and delivery deadlines are to be taken with a pinch of salt. normal excuse, Diwali happened workers didn't return in time. yes but you knew Diwali would happen when you gave the deadline! so don't go around pretending like it is an unforseen event. rant over.

The Indian wedding industry is set to contribute roughly ₹4.7 lakh crore ($58.75 billion) this season, reflecting a substantial annual increase. Key statistics include an estimated industry size of $40-50 billion, 2.5 to 3 million expected weddings, 70% of gold sales linked to weddings in India, and 1.2 million weddings with a ₹10 lakh ($12,000) budget. These statistics are directly linked to the occasion of wedding but if we generalise some of the aspects. Wedding season also boosts economies of #realestate #automobile industries. As people in India buy houses and automobiles as a part of Preprocesses of Wedding. Local economies consisting from a ordinary #plumber to wedding Location resort/ Halls gets a boost in #weddingeconomy. Consider or not but we can say that after Diwali, the unsaid biggest festive season is #shaadiseason. A #POV #marriageeconomy #india #weddingseason #economics #business #tradition

Ganapathi Bappa Moriya! 🙏 When Bal Gangadhar Tilak ji initiated Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, it was with the purpose of uniting communities for a greater cause. Decades later, that vision continues to bring us together for collective good, it’s nice to see this! And there’s room to take it further. Every year, our beautiful celebrations also generate tons of flower waste, Prasad, and other unregulated waste at Pandals. Instead of letting these offerings clog drains, why not recycle them into compost and return them to the farmers to enrich the soil? 🌸🌱 Phool.co and many others are doing this actively. In our community, we’ve been driving efforts to reduce plastic use and promote sustainable waste management during Ganesh Chaturthi. This isn’t just a temporary change—it’s a shift we are instilling in future generations - “Prarthna, Jap, Satvik aur Satat Soch!” Lord Ganesha symbolizes wisdom, and now it’s on us to celebrate him with eco-consciousness and respect. How can we make this Ganesh Chaturthi even greener and more sustainable? 💚 #EcoFriendlyGaneshChaturthi #GanapatiBappaMoriya #Sustainability #GreenFestivals

🟠 Indian festivals give a major boost to the economy by encouraging consumer spending and supporting various businesses. As Ganesh Chaturthi began on Saturday, the famous GSB Seva Mandal Ganpati, also known as the "richest Ganpati," is adorned with 66 kg of gold and 325 kg of silver. The festival, from September 7 to 11, has an insurance cover worth ₹400.58 crore! The GSB Seva Mandal in Matunga is renowned for its gold-jeweled Lord Ganesha. 🟠 Ganesh Chaturthi alone brings an economic boost of ₹25,000 crore, with major expenses on pandals, decorations, rituals, and merchandise. The market for Ganesh idols alone is expected to exceed ₹500 crore. The festival, once a private family event, has grown into a major public celebration, showing India's cultural transformation. It's celebrated widely, especially in Maharashtra, with grand pandals, processions, and rituals for Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. 🟠 The economic impact includes contributions from idol sales, flowers, sweets, catering, and local tourism. Festivals like Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali further uplift the economy with increased trade, tourism, and retail sales. #Narendramodi #bjp #Festivals #economy #sales
