“There is no substitute for self-belief.” Met up with Daniel Rajnoch and Andrew Thompson MRICS from InvestBay recently to see where the Robot Mascot method has taken them. They flew over from their base in Prague to discuss their plans for the future. They told me the funds they raised have given them the power to focus on the business and move ahead with their plan. Here’s a few things I learnt from them: Believe in yourself "There is no substitute for self-belief. That’s got to be there – and its got to be there in spades. You have to believe that you have the best product or the best team or the best access to capital or labour or to your target markets. Ideally all of them. And then you have to make sure everyone around you believes the same. You will find doubters on the way. Make it your business to let them know that regardless of what they think, you believe in what you are doing and you will be successful." Co-founder collaboration "It helps a lot to have co-founders. Investbay has a founder and 3 co-founders, each of whom brings a different skill-set to the team - but perhaps more importantly than that, is the ability to share, discuss and problem-solve with that team. Mentors are great but it’s about celebrating the wins and the losses when they happen with people that really understand what those wins and losses meant - and ultimately it’s about getting to better solutions." Monarch Networth Capital Ltd, an integrated financial services firm led by CEO Gaurav Bhandari and Managing Director Vaibhav Shah, is set to raise Rs 300 crore through a preferential share allotment and a 1:1 bonus share issue. The shares will be priced at Rs 560 each, reflecting an 8.5% discount from the BSE’s last traded price. The fundraise will be led by MONARCH INFRAPARKS PRIVATE LIMITED, with significant contributions from CEO Gaurav Bhandari. ⚡ Good Glamm raises $30 mn for debt payment, growth 1️⃣ The Good Glamm Group, which houses personal-care and beauty brands, has secured $30 million through an ongoing fundraising drive that seeks a total of $70 million. The bridge round was financed by existing backers Warburg Pincus, Prosus, Accel and Bessemer Venture Partners at an unchanged valuation of $1.2 billion. 2️⃣ The round was essentially a rights issue, a method companies use to raise capital from existing shareholders, usually in proportion to their stakes. 3️⃣ Good Glamm requires funds to clear vendor payments and service venture-debt lines, said people familiar with the company’s situation. 4️⃣ A chunk of the raised capital will be used for business growth, including international expansion, and for paying the founders of companies acquired by Good Glamm. 🚨 Read more about the deal and Good Glamm.
