Should trust be earned or extended? Well, there is a good argument for both sides but trust is a fragile agent, and whether it's earned or was extended, once broken it's hard to repair. One wise person once said "You can't talk yourself out of a situation you behaved yourself into" and the statement couldn't be further from the truth. When we think of trust, we often think of people but in today's business environment, it's essential to provide an environment where your constituents can trust you. If they don't (and that includes employees), they will keep your company from flourishing.
