Weekly Learning from Internship Week 1 at Sky Quest Technologies 🚀📊 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This week's focus was on a game-changer in market research: the MECE principle! 🧠✨ MECE stands for Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive. It's a powerful framework that helps us slice through data cleanly—think of it like the perfect chef's knife for carving out insights! 🔪📈 - Mutually Exclusive means no double-dipping; every piece of data fits into one, and only one, category. 🚫📦 - Collectively Exhaustive ensures we've covered the entire buffet of information. No crumb is left behind! 🌐🍽️ How does it help in market research? 📈 In market research, MECE ensures that all potential market segments are considered without overlap, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior, preferences, and opportunities for growth. It's the backbone of a thorough and insightful analysis. 🎯 The image showcases the MECE principle vividly. The top-left section shows "Mutually Exclusive" categories - notice how none of the shapes overlap. The top-right displays "Collectively Exhaustive" categories, where all the shapes together cover the entire area with no spaces left. This is the combination of both principles, showing a Venn diagram where all shapes are distinct and non-overlapping (ME), yet when taken together, they cover the entire area (CE). #InternshipLearnings #MECE #MarketResearch #Strategy #ManagementConsulting #BusinessAnalysis #DataDrivenDecision

🌟 Behind the Scenes: My Exclusive Tour of The Walt Disney Company’s StudioLab! 🌟 Earlier this week, I had an incredible PERSONAL tour of Disney's StudioLAB thanks to KC, an Associate Producer at the StudioLab. We connected through networking during my first Disney internship facilitated by an introduction from the previous Director of Technology at Marvel Studios. KC walked me through the production process and showcased the cutting-edge technologies used to bring our favorite films to life. Learning about the history and evolution of the StudioLab was awe-inspiring! 🎥✨ This experience underscores the power of networking and building genuine relationships. Here are a few tips for interns on how to ask for what they want or are interested in during their internship: 🧠🍽️ 1️⃣: Know What You Want: Be clear about your goals and interests. Whether it's a project, a mentor, or a specific experience, clarity is key. 2️⃣: Do Your Homework: Understand the opportunities available within your organization. Research and find out who can help you achieve your goals. 3️⃣: Be Proactive: Don't wait for opportunities to come to you. Reach out to people, ask for informational interviews, and express your interests. 4️⃣: Follow Up: If you don't get a response right away, don't be discouraged. Follow up politely to show your continued interest. 5️⃣: Express Gratitude: Always thank those who take the time to help you. Building genuine relationships involves appreciation and respect. Remember, "closed mouths do not get fed." Know what you want and never hesitate to ask for it! 🗣️ 🚀 Call to Action: 🚀 Please vote for me in the WayUp Top 100 Intern Challenge! Comment “voted” below, and you'll be entered to win one of three 1:1 sessions with me to help you on your career or networking journey! Next summer, I’m aiming for more than just an internship—I’m preparing to make a real impact. I’m working on a product portfolio to showcase my skills and approach to solving real-world problems. My learnings: 🍁 Every project should have a purpose, from user research to final outcomes. 🍁 Anyone can list skills, but showing tangible results from your projects is key. 🍁 Display 3-5 of your best projects. Approach: • Problem - What challenge are you solving? • Solution - Approach for this solutioning • Impact - Result, visuals, data, screenshots, diagrams etc 🍁 Include clickable prototypes, demos, or links to live projects. This process has been about building my own brand and positioning myself for success. #InternshipPrep #ProductPortfolio #CareerStrategy #FreshersAdvice

As I wrap up my summer internship at Reingold, Inc., I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I've had, right from this very desk. It’s more than just a workspace—it's where I learned, grew, and made lasting connections with some truly amazing people. 💫 🔹 Key Highlights: 1. Collaborated on impactful projects like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Health website, the Phoenix Government website, and a leading children’s cancer research website, where I focused on improving user experiences. 2. Engaged in continuous learning, from attending workshops to collaborating on various tasks, deepening my understanding of content strategy and UX design. 3. Emphasized the importance of coffee chats, using them as an opportunity to build relationships, gain insights, and foster a collaborative work environment. 4. Utilized innovative thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges, contributing to the success of projects. 📚 What I Learned: 1. How to leverage data and technology to drive business solutions and meet client needs & expectations, ensuring our work not only met but exceeded goals. 2. The importance of balancing business and client needs – a key takeaway that guided every decision I made during my projects. 3. Never shy away from asking questions – It’s crucial to seek clarity and understand every aspect of a project to deliver the best possible outcome. But what made this experience truly special were the people I worked with. A huge thank you to Anna M. for being the best mentor, to my intern buddy Yonas Samuel for always being there for a quick chat or advice, and to my intern coordinators Kelly Valdes and Kaitlyn McCarthy for guiding me through this journey. And of course, a big thank you to the entire Digital Experience team and everyone else I’ve collaborated with—I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to learn from. 💖 This desk may be empty now, but it holds so many memories of hard work, learning, and growth. As I move forward, I carry with me the skills and lessons learned, excited for what’s next. 🙌

As my internship at Airy ended, I'd love to share my experiences from this journey. Working at a start-up was different from working at a big company. At Ernst & Young, there were structured procedures, and I could always rely on my team lead for guidance. At Airy, however, there was no direct instruction on what to do or how to do it. Rather than just an intern, I felt more like a key contributor, having to rely on my initiative and critical thinking to take action. Here’s what I’ve accomplished: 1. Financial Modeling and Strategy: I developed financial models to forecast Airy's growth, helping the team understand potential revenue streams and cost structures. This involved analyzing pricing strategies, server and hosting costs, marketing expenditures, and salary expenses to estimate gross profit and net income margins. 2. Market Research and User Insights: I combined primary and secondary data sources to conduct extensive market research, from crawling Reddit and App Store comments using Python to conducting user interviews. With sentiment analysis and word cloud analysis, I identified opportunities within the mental health app space, pinpointing the features and characteristics that best attract users and exploring how AI can enhance user experiences. Conducting user interviews provided firsthand insights into what users value, which informed product development strategies and how they feel about Airy and helped refine Airy's offerings. 3. Podcast with Eliza: Working with Eliza Rivas was a highlight of my internship. We had collaborated before on a WashU consulting program for Lighthouse International Academy, and she was incredibly supportive when I mentioned the potential for a podcast collaboration. Recording my first podcast in English was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. We discussed mindfulness and self-reflection—topics close to Airy’s mission. The podcast links are in the comments. This internship has been a fantastic learning experience. It deepened my knowledge of data analysis, financial planning, marketing research, .etc. Our team lead, Bill Qin, always trusted me to pursue what I believed was essential, allowing me to work autonomously rather than developing a strict weekly KPI as he did for others. A big shout out to Jacob Weinstein and Stephanie Bergman, my two best intern buddies, who were always willing to share their insights and provided perspectives I hadn't considered. Excited to see how Steven Zhang and Heesoo Cho continue to make Airy even better!
