Croquet anyone? Hot Springs Village's Croquet Lawn is an artificial turf located at 200 DeSoto Park Lane, next to the Bocce Ball courts. In croquet, a player uses a mallet to hit a ball through hoop-shaped wickets. The sport is great for those looking for a game that is easy on the joints and requires moderate physical activity. Croquet requires only one basic skill, that of propelling a ball with a degree of accuracy. The principal difference between croquet and most other outdoor sports in that croquet requires delicacy and skill, rather than speed or strength. The Stat: According to a study done by Puttview that had 20 golfers each putt 10 uphill putts and 10 downhill putts (i.e. 400 putts analyzed in total), the uphill putts were holed ~50% more frequently than the downhill putts. This was retested and the same results were reflected - uphill putts go in ~60% of the time whereas the downhill putts only go in ~40% of the time. The Takeaway: When hitting approach shots into greens, most of us are just happy to be on the putting surface. But with a little research prep or a yardage book, you can also consider the contours of the green. Try to give yourself as many uphill putts as possible throughout a round. Having a downhill 20 foot slider is a sure-fire way to 3-putt, easily avoided if you emphasize misses below the hole! #WildGolf #GolfStats #CureMySwing

Progress update from Nenagh Ormond RFC in Tipperary where we are currently constructing 2 no. artificial grass pitches. 1️⃣ 9,000 sq/m artificial grass pitch to replace the existing grass field 2️⃣ 50m x 40m artificial grass training pitch   ✅ Cut and fill complete on the main pitch, with drainage works underway ✅ Topsoil has been stripped from the training pitch.    One of the biggest advantages of converting from a grass field to an artificial turf playing surface is that that all club members will be able to play rugby all year round.
