Screwing one in or above a vessel and waking it up is enough to see level data from anywhere. To access this data, we need a network. We use NB-IoT & LTE-M, specially designed cell networks for maximum range and minimum battery usage. To ensure there is good coverage in your area, the guys at Siretta Ltd have released the SNYPER GRAPHYTE IOT. After initial testing, I can say that this piece of kit looks like it will come in very handy. Our AKKR8 sensors use MQTT callbacks to enable a wide array of IoT platforms to change the characteristics of the sensors remotely. Upside: It is flexible, and any platform can communicate with it. Downside: it draws energy if the sensor should look for updates every time it uploads data. Solution: New feature. Now that we have stepped up the game, we can either temporarily accept callbacks by adding a jumper on the board for easier installation, or the customer can set a variable for how often the sensor should look for updates, for example, every 10th upload. Of course, setting this variable remotely with callbacks is also possible. #iot #innovation
