Did you know that telehealth visits reduce doctor-patient connection and promote dissatisfaction and mistrust most prominently among those identifying as Black, Hispanic, and Native American ???? Transgenerational trauma experienced by Black communities has created the perception—and often reality—that health care entities do not have their best interests at heart. Black Americans are less likely than White Americans to have strong relationships with their primary care physicians, potentially contributing to scepticism that high-quality care can be provided over telehealth. The findings of this study highlight the need to prioritise a more empathetic, patient-centred focus in the current deployment of telemedicine. Medical education reforms will be necessary to ensure that health professionals are proficient in delivering high-quality care via telehealth to all patients. Recent research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine reveals a remarkable shift in Veteran care: video-based telehealth has experienced a staggering 2,300% increase, now accounting for 11-12% of outpatient care. This transition highlights the collaborative efforts between nurse practitioners and #DigitalVA, showcasing the invaluable role of telehealth in providing essential care to Veterans and their families, especially those with limited access to Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs). Thanks to secure video connections, mobile appointment-scheduling apps, and other accessible digital solutions, telehealth has become a critical lifeline, ensuring that preventive and essential care is accessible to Veterans, demonstrating a powerful example of human-centered technology. https://lnkd.in/gzHkTamM #Telehealth #veteranshealth

Is telehealth the answer to solving major barriers to care access? Telehealth connects patients who may not otherwise have the transportation or time off to get healthcare, especially preventative care. It allows patients to connect with speciality clinicians and increases accessibility to health information. It’s also incredibly convenient to get health care services on your phone. Personally, I’m not sure I’d have the same quality of care if I wasn’t able to take some of my own doctor appointments by video chat. Despite these benefits, there is a major disadvantage to telehealth: not having a physical exam, which is a staple of an accurate assessment. When it comes to pediatrics, it is often safer to get a physical assessment, especially for children who are nonverbal (whether due to age or developmental delay). Physical assessments become more important when there are more complex physical ailments, and helps detect subtle abnormalities like a heart murmur. Yet, without telehealth, many folks avoid the doctor altogether. Telehealth helps bridge the gap when it comes to mitigating health disparities, a key to health equity. How should primary care offices integrate telehealth technology to make health care safer and more accessible for all? ("GenNAAI" is on a mission to eradicate caregiver burden by any innovation necessary. Presently, one of our projects is "ReguTx". "NAAI" projects are poised to be agents of change given our vision and as AI propagation in healthcare delivery expands exponentially. My Personal interests as nurse entrepreneur are informed by my brothers behavioral episodes as these episodes can become CrisiS. In this regard, internal circumstance can often escalate past the threshold of external redirection measures. To monitor and give ourselves a respite, we often use technology like Ring and Alexa. The Ring app often shows motion in all the rooms, which was odd as I moved away from home; One night, I opened the app and witnessed a live crisis. To redirect, I immediately activated the alarms to stop him from escalating more. The alarms scared him enough to allow my mom to get her whole-body weight on him, yet he was still moving, flipping the bed and furniture with his feet. As I watched on in shock, my mother grew more tired, therefore I had to immediately call 911 to our home in Atlanta. Unfortunately, help often arrives after crises, which is what happened 15min after my call. (The breaking, the screams, the crisis and medical conditions are normal for us caregivers.) Witnessing what my mom went through without being there was overwhelming, entirely. I was sad, enraged and determined to eradicate the burden. Consequently, I focused on finding the solution to such lived experience. This led me to build the ReguTx filter, to help remove the burden of finding appropriate Digital Therapeutics for home care. ReguTx was born out of GA Tech's Hacklytics Competition in February 2024. It is a filter for Digital Therapeutics, a service or product marketed on the world-wide-web. Naai is Nurse-led AI-driven case management. Naai is the most integrated AI-home care tech and is intended to recognize when mymother and other caregivers need help. Naai is SaaS or tech that focuses on maintaining continuum of care using Nurse-led, AIdriven behavioral analysis, patient-centric care, and case management. Naai is for agnostic health systems to bring generative and spatial AI to democratize healthcare delivery at the home care market. Naai is a respite service for caregivers and carerecipients! As such, I have intense interest in protecting my IP centered on "sayphguarding" innovations such as NAAI. Furthermore, by protecting my endeavors my mission is secured as my purpose is to also eradicate caregiver burden by any innovation necessary.) My mission is personal. Disclosure: Generative AI or "AI" was not used in the writing process of this creative work. ONLY basic Spellcheck was used. Survey finds broad support among clinicians for telehealth Eighty-seven percent of clinicians across the US say they would support federal regulations that standardize telehealth delivery, according to a survey conducted by telehealth platform SteadyMD. The survey also found support for widespread access to telehealth services, as research has found most older adults have at least one chronic condition, which can limit mobility and access to in-person appointments. https://lnkd.in/gXZPRE56
