I am pleased that my new paper "Long-Term Care in Germany in the Context of the Demographic Transition—An Outlook for the Expenses of Long-Term Care Insurance through 2050" with Christina Wilke and Moritz Heß has been published in Econometrics: https://lnkd.in/dDpC_Zpx There, we suggest a novel forecast approach for the long-term expenditures of statutory long-term care insurance, drawing on a connection of my stochastic population forecast model, scenario analysis, multivariate methods, and multivariate generalized model. As an example, we present projections for Germany until 2050, employing varying epidemiological assumptions. I believe, this is a very nice paper that presents a lot of potential for further improvements when applying this to better healthcare data.
