Hi. Todd Baker, Corporate Vice
President of Engineering at Future Electronics. We're here in Munich, Germany at Electronica 2024
talking with Francesc at MPS about some of the automotive
solutions that they're working on for imaging, and
what they're doing. So, Francesc talk to me a little
bit about what MPS is bringing to the table here. So at MPS, we focus on
power devices, right? And a power device
is used to supply, most MCUs in the
automotive industry. So in this case, we are showing here a camera
MCU which is used to provide vision around the car, for parking assistance and
driver assistance applications. In this case, MPS provides the power
switch to control the power to these cameras that are
distributed around the car, and we also provide the power
supply that translates the battery voltage into a stable voltage
that these batteries can take. Right. Okay. And how is MPS differentiating
yourselves in this space? What do you guys think you're
doing differently than other semiconductor companies are? So at MPS we have our own
semiconductor process. We don't have our fabs,
but we develop our process ourselves, and this process is really
good at making power FETs, so switches to control power. Because they are so power dense, in a similar package
as our competitors, we can lower the resistance of
our switch and achieve a much better thermal response. Because there is not
so much dissipation, we can minimize the power
loss to the board Right. And, we can get a
much cooler, device. Right. Absolutely critical in
so many applications right now. That's that's very cool. For engineers that are
interested in taking a deeper look at this and wanna maybe see
some of this in their own designs, what would be the best way
for them to reach out to you? So, of course, the best way would
be to contact your local Future Electronics, representative
or also visit our website, MonolithicPower.com, and you can also use
the MPS Now service, which is a remote engineering
service where we can do direct customer support, with
the form in there. Excellent. Thank you so
much. Really appreciate it. So definitely some exciting
solutions from MPS. Really exciting to see how
all the different ways that engineers are working towards
making the world a better place. Certainly a great solution here. If you've got other interest
in what we're seeing here at Electronica, please
keep following us. We'll look forward to seeing
you as the week goes on.
