Last Friday, Bob Monte, CPWA®, RMA®, CAP® and Madelyn Monte volunteered at the Guilford Art Center Craft Expo on the Guilford Green, assisting at the ticket gates. The turnout was incredible, and it was amazing to see so many people supporting the Guilford Art Center (GAC) and the talented artists! This annual event, hosted by GAC, a non-profit dedicated to promoting visual arts, showcases top artisans from across the country. This celebration of the arts has become a signature event for the town of Guilford and the Connecticut shoreline. The Craft Expo supports all GAC educational programs throughout the year, offering a wide range of classes catered to all ages. Thank you to Maureen Belden and the GAC team for this opportunity. Don't forget to visit their year-round shop for handcrafted items by American artisans!

"The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is assessing the most pressing space needs for DC's arts and humanities sector. This survey is a first step to resolving the creative space crisis in DC. In partnership with other DC agencies, The Business Improvement District (BID) Council, landlords, and other stakeholders, CAH is collecting this information to ensure DC preserves and expands its creative spaces, especially as the city continues its post-COVID pivot. Your honest experiences, opinions, and hopes are necessary to ensure we get this right. CAH seeks responses from ALL interested arts and humanities entities including individuals, organizations (for-profit and non-profit), and unorganized entities. This can include painters, theatres, art service organizations, museums, filmmakers, art galleries, dancers, musicians, literacy groups, arts educators, bands, TV studios, installation artists, artist collectives, etc. Please share this link among your networks." https://lnkd.in/e-Q4DEtF

The journey of equitable homeownership. Your support matters.
Each January our nation honors the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, an incredible Civil Rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Just three years after the now infamous "I have a dream" speech, Dr. King turned his attention to the rights of Black families to own a home. He believed that affordable housing is a critical component of economic justice and equality - and an integral part of building wealth among communities of color. For the past 30 years, Homefree-USA has carried on this work, helping thousands of families of color achieve, and sustain, homeownership each year. Now, with a network of 50+ affiliated partners across the country, we serve more than 40,000 households annually. HomeFree-USA is honored to be a part of Dr. King’s legacy and continue the journey to fair and equitable housing. We can’t do it alone though. With your support, combined with that of other like-minded individuals and our passion to serve, we can achieve Dr. King’s vision of equitable homeownership. How will you join us in this fight? Your tax-deductible gift before January 20th ensures we can keep moving forward! Click the link to make a donation: https://lnkd.in/eau7j87K

3rd attempt to post on this post! Not wasting taxpayers' money would go a long way for others. They removed my previous posts which simply expresses DEA's willingness to hide their incompetence and disabled comments on the appropriate post. If this firm put out the truth and numbers of how many things they had to redo on this Highway 20 Safety Upgrade between Corvallis and Albany OR taxpayers would have something to say about this firm’s laughable ranking. How about it DEA, put out an itemized list of everything that had to be done two or three times because it wasn’t done right in the first place and how much taxpayers money was wasted in the process. In my driveway alone they had to do multiple things more than once. No wonder ODOT never comes in on budget with incompetence like this! Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for this! DEA was contracted for at least the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, the worst one, up 239% from original estimate. https://lnkd.in/epv6uESx
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” – Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King's question, "What are you doing for others?", deeply resonates at DEA. Guided by this principle, we dedicate ourselves to community stewardship and helping diversify the A/E industry. In 2023, we championed inclusivity in the A/E industry by awarding seven scholarships to women and underrepresented students. Additionally, we partnered with over 40 charitable organizations, reflecting our commitment to positive change. DEA employees are living examples of Dr. King's message. They provide leadership to 29 community-based organizations and professional associations, and actively participate in local volunteer efforts at each of our 30 locations. Their dedication to making a difference embodies our unwavering commitment to shaping a more equitable future for our communities and society at large.
