Good context. We must remember that the tools used to measure adoption are limited with websites. A friend of mine has just discovered these same metrics on Indeed (He refuses to enroll at LinkedIn because of the validation requirements; for him, this is an invitation of privacy) and is put off by the application numbers. But then, it also seems HR is not interested in filling jobs either because jobs often get reposted over and over even if he has applied. HR people ghost you or initially make a connection and never return emails; all these things are not proper morals and values. What happens to telling people they are not the candidate and having the common courtesy to communicate with potential clients? "You reap what you sow." We should, after all, seek to love our neighbours as they do themselves and to do unto others with grace and respect. But these values seem lost within society and give way to selfishness.

Dear 2024 Job Seeekers, When you see a job on LinkedIn with hundreds of applicants keep in mind that doesn’t mean hundreds of completed applications were submitted and all are qualified applicants. It means that many times «the apply now» tab was clicked. Don’t pay attention to what « others » are doing pay attention to you. If you’re interested, apply. If not, let it fly.
