Navigating the First Six Weeks of Preschool Here we are at the six-week mark! Has it really only been six weeks? I’m sure for most early years teachers, it feels more like six months! 😅 But that’s just how transformative (and busy) this time is for both children and teachers. In my experience, the first six weeks of preschool can feel a bit like navigating uncharted waters. I call this period “The Crucial Six Weeks” because it’s when children adjust to their new environment, figure out routines, and start deciding who their friends are—often forming a little army of tiny negotiators and rule-benders! By week six, the army has somewhat been formed, teachers are catching their breath, and it finally feels like we’ve won the battle! In my blog post, I break down what happens week by week because those early weeks, although intense, set the stage for a successful year. By the time the rhythm settles in, everyone feels more confident, a solid foundation has been set and they’re ready for the year ahead. They say it takes six weeks to truly grasp something new—preschool is no exception! Click the link to read more, and share this with your colleagues and families—I’m sure they’ll find this resource relatable and useful! https://lnkd.in/d4VGd9E9 #QADpreschool #EarlyChildhoodEducation #Preschool #ChildDevelopment #SettlingIn #EducationalPsychology

As children bid farewell to their month-long hiatus at home and prepare to return to school, parents everywhere are gearing up to ensure a smooth transition. Here are some tips to make the back-to-school process seamless and stress-free: 1. Plan Early: Avoid the chaos of last-minute preparations by planning ahead. Compile a comprehensive checklist of all the necessities your child will need for school, from textbooks to stationery, and start gathering them in advance. 2. Budget Wisely: Set a realistic budget for back-to-school expenses, including school supplies, uniforms, and any extracurricular activities. Stick to your budget to avoid financial strain and ensure a hassle-free start to the academic year. 3. Check Uniforms and Shoes: Take inventory of your child's school uniforms and shoes. Ensure they still fit comfortably and are in good condition. If replacements are needed, purchase them early to avoid the rush. 4. Review School Requirements: Double-check your child's diary or school handbook for any specific requirements or deadlines. Ensure all necessary forms, permissions, and fees are completed and submitted on time. 5. Establish Routine: Ease your child back into a school routine gradually. Start adjusting bedtimes and waking times a week or two before school reopens to help them readjust to the school schedule. 6. Label Belongings: Prevent misplaced items by labeling all of your child's belongings, including uniforms, bags, and stationery. This simple step can save time and frustration in the long run. Beyond the practical aspects of preparation, early planning also affords families the opportunity to savor the remaining days of the holiday break together. At Winnies Pure Health, we extend our warmest wishes to all school-going children for a happy and successful academic year ahead. #backtoschool #happyschool #parentingtips #routinebuilding
