PVC Weekly Analysis - Issue 24- 27 - Monday 08 July 2024 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) import prices into Turkey rolled over this week except for US origin K67 material, which decreased. The market is stagnant and there is no expected mobility. Demand is low owing to the lack of money on the end-user side and both seasonal and economic recession in the construction sector. Prices are expected to fall slightly in August and may increase again in September. Northwest Europe origin PVC K67 was assessed at $900- 920/t cfr, unchanged from last week. Domestic producer Petkim offered its material at $920-930/t plus VAT and July loading South Korean material was available at $900/t cfr. Northwest Europe origin PVC K70 was assessed at $950- 960/t cfr, unchanged from last week. Petkim’s offers were at $950-960/t cfr. PVC Weekly Analysis - Issue 24- 35 - Monday 02 September 2024 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) import prices into Turkey decreased this week except for northwest Europe origin K70 material, which rolled over. Market participants are awaiting the an- nouncement of new monthly offers. There is little demand for K67 grade ready cargoes, but demand for new cargoes is not expected to be high as the market is experiencing sluggish demand owing to the economic downturn and a very slow construction sector. Most of the offers this week were made by traders. There were many offers for US origin K67 material, while offers for northwest Europe K70 material were very limited. Northwest Europe origin K67 was assessed at $820-830/t cfr, stable on the low end and $10/t lower on the high end, compared with last week’s assessment. South Korean offers were available at $820-830/t cfr and Egyptian offers were at $790-800/t cif. Domestic producer Petkim offered its mate- rial at $860-870/t plus VAT. Northwest Europe K70 was assessed at $850/t cfr this week, unchanged. Petkim’s offers were at $890-900/t plus VAT. Demand is low owing to economic problems and seasonal stagnation in the construction sector. Prices have started to ease but this has not yet had a positive impact on demand. Northwest Europe-origin PVC K67 material was assessed at $880-900/t cfr, $20/t lower than last week’s assess- ment. Offers from Egypt were available at $850/t cif and South Korean September-arriving material was offered at $870/t cfr. PVC Weekly Analysis - Issue 24- 33 - Monday 19 August 2024 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) import prices into Turkey decreased this week. The recession continues and demand is low. Un- less there is a fall in interest rates, as expected in Septem- ber, demand is expected to remain low. Market participants are indicating that interest rates, which are currently at 50pc, need to come down to kick-start activity, particularly in the construction sector. Northwest Europe is currently not making many offers to Turkey because of low netbacks, instead focusing on its own domestic market. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was assessed this week at $840-860/t cfr, $10/t lower on the low end and stable on the high end. Egyptian K67 was heard at $810/t cfr and offers from South Korea were available at $840/t cfr. Domestic pro- ducer Petkim offered its material at $860-870/t, plus VAT. US-origin K67 was assessed at $760-780/t cfr, $40/t lower on the low end and $50/t lower on the high end. Northwest Europe-origin K70 was assessed at $860-870/t cfr, $20/t lower on the low end and $30/t lower on the high end. Although end user demand is not buoyant, a sense that prices are more likely to rise than fall further is fuelling more buying interest. Still buyers are waiting for all prices to be released next week before they take action. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was assessed at $850-855/t cfr, $20/t higher on the low end and up by $15/t on the high end, compared with last week. Offers from Mexico were heard at $840/t cfr and domestic producer Petkim offered its material at $850/t, plus value-added tax. US-origin K67 was assessed at $780-800/t cfr, $40/t higher on the low end and up by $40/t on the high end. PVC Weekly Analysis - Issue 24- 31 - Monday 05 August 2024 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) import prices into Turkey varied this week. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was increased, whereas US origin K67 and Northwest Europe origin K70 rolled over. Demand continues to be very weak, supply is also very lim- ited, but due to the weak demand the shortage in supply is not noticeable. The current European holiday is also affect- ing the market, but market participants expect it to pick up a little in September when much of Europe returns from holiday. Northwest Europe origin K67 was assessed this week at $850-880/t cfr, stable on the low end and $20/t higher on the high end, compared with last week’s assessment. Offers from southern Europe were available at €870/t ($944/t) cfr and Egyptian offers were at $820-935/t cif. Northwest Europen K58 was at $880/t cfr. Domestic producer Petkim offered its K67 at $890/t plus VAT. Northwest Europe origin K70 was assessed at $890-900/t cfr, unchanged from last week. Petkim’s material was avail- able at $920/t cfr. PVC Weekly Analysis - Issue 24- 24 - Monday 17 June 2024 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) import prices into Turkey decreased this week. Prices, which had risen considerably in the past few weeks, have fallen slightly owing to falling demand and quietness in the market ahead of Eid, which starts on 16 June. It is also reported that prices have moved downwards following competitive offers from south Europe. As Indian demand is already quite high, US-origin cargoes in particular are shifting to that region. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was assessed at $840-850/t cfr, $20/t lower on the low end and $30/t lower on the high end, compared with last week’s prices. Domestic producer Petkim offered its material at $880-900/t plus VAT. North- west European K57 offers were at $860/t cfr. Northwest Europe-origin K70 was assessed at $880-900/t cfr, $20/t lower on the low end and $10/t lower on the high end. Petkim offered its material at $920/t plus VAT. Market participants were away this week because of the Eid-el-Fitr holiday, and the market was quiet. It is expected to pick up towards May. Although demand is ex- pected to increase in the summer season, the construction sector’s stagnation as a result of current economic condi- tions means demand will not increase as much as hoped. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was assessed at $880-890/t cfr, and US-origin K67 was assessed at $780-800/t cfr. North- west Europe-origin K70 was assessed at $920-930/t cfr.

Northwest Europe-origin K67 increased in price, while prices for northwest Europe-origin K70 were unchanged on the week as no offers were heard. US-origin pipe grade decreased in price. Demand is weak at present as most buyers completed their purchasing in December. Market participants are wait- ing for the announcement of the new month's offers, but buying interest is not expected to increase in February. Northwest Europe-origin K67 was assessed at $850-860/t cfr, $10/t higher than last week’s assessment. Prices for northwest Europe-origin K70 rolled over at $880-890/t cfr. This drop in demand is expected to continue in the coming months. Northwest Europe-origin PVC K67 was assessed at $810- 820/t cfr this week, $50/t lower on the low end and $60/t lower on the high end compared with the previous assess- ment. US-origin K67 was assessed at $740-760/t cfr, $20/t lower than last week. Northwest Europe-origin PVC K70 was assessed at $850-860/t cfr this week, which was $50/t lower that last week. Turkish producer Petkim is offering its K67 material at $860/t plus value-added tax.

European produc- ers are focusing on domestic markets rather than selling to Turkey at low prices. Although prices have trended down in the PVC market, which is currently both seasonally and economically disadvantaged, there has been no demand uplift so far.
