Running a business isn't for everyone, and 12 years ago when I opened my first business I thought it wasn't for me either. The problem was, that I defaulted into running a plumbing business similar to what I learnt in, because that's all I knew. There was nothing wrong with that model, but it wasn't right for me, and once I realised that, I tried again. 8 years have now passed since I started Houseworks, and I enjoy every second of it, here is what I think made the difference: -Prioritising Communication: This gave me better perspective on the client feeling comfortable, respected and satisfied. -Giving Back to the Community: My work with the NDIS have been some of the most rewarding projects I've done, and I'm always excited to do them. -Build a Trusted Network: Running a business can often feel like you vs the world, when I made the decision to hire skilled people I trusted, I felt unstoppable. Not everyone has smooth sailing when it comes to running a business, but if you stick with it and make it your own, you'll never look back.

What they say is true when it comes to business: It's all about who you know! But what if you don't know the right people or have the right connections? Then it's time to start the building process! Based on my many years of experience, here's how you can start making those connections: -Get involved: Regardless of your specific location, there's a good chance that there's a United Way or Habitat for Humanity right down the road. Find an event to sponsor or attend, or if your budget is a little tighter, lend a hand so you can converse with other volunteers! -Improve your face time: a website is a must, but nothing beats face time with others in your community. Join your local chamber of commerce and ask them about ways to get involved to make the right connections for your business. What are some ways YOU make meaningful community connections to build your business? Comment below!

🏆2 x Global Group Coach of the Year | I help overworked business owners enjoy 3-day weekends with the Autopilot Roadmap that runs my 7-figure business in <1 day/week | Check out my “FEATURED” section below 👇🏼
Show me your calendar and I’ll know how successful you are. Show me the people you surround yourself with and I’ll know how big or small your dreams are. Show me your systems and I’ll know how much your business relies on you. Show me your team and I’ll know how long you can leave your business for and it still grows. All results are downstream from behaviour. Deciding what goes in your calendar and WHAT you work on will determine your success. Your community will either allow you to dream big or knock you down tall poppy style. Your systems make your business work without constant oversight. And your team operates those systems to reliably make money while you are not there.

I help creative business people find their voice to build their community. I’m also the Thursday newsletter paperboy 🗞
Creating a space where you know it’s more than just your input encourages longevity. Forming a community-driven business takes in so many different aspects. I recognise three pillars are integral to your success. Everything I am sharing is from my own experience. This means it can be applied your side. It’s taken me years to realise, so this is taken from 10 years of figuring it all out. What I am sharing is what takes to create a community that can stand the test of time and to bring people around your campfire. I understand there is so much to take on board, but I highlight the crux of everything coming together. Hope it helps >> https://lnkd.in/eSD6fbjf
