One of the most common questions we get at Monumental is "how do I get into a robotics as a software engineer"? Inspired by our time at Palantir, we decided to open up a new role for Forward Deployed Robotics Engineers. The typical Silicon Valley startup advice to become an effective engineer is “spend more time with your users”. Our version of this is “go spend time with robots". Alfred Polycarpe wrote a great blog post on his experience, starting with us as an intern and quickly growing into this role and becoming an expert in robotics, doing everything from debugging our robots to tuning kinematics and writing new motion plans: https://lnkd.in/e-XbkMKg We're opening this up as a full-time role: https://lnkd.in/e9VEDRYU And also as an internship if you have no industry experience yet: https://lnkd.in/eCvrypfS
Hi Salar, very impressive and inspiring! Would you be open to sharing your career story on CheckYourFuture.nl? We aim to provide rolemodels with a bèta/technical background to (high school) students and your story starting from a Physics background seems very inspiring! Please get in touch through info@checkyourfuture.nl if you are open to it, then we will share more information. For now see www.checkyourfuture.nl for some examples. Thanks!
Finally a position where engineers can literally understand what's happening with the robot they are building This is exactly the kind of role that more robotics companies should embrace. Having engineers directly interact with the robots they're building and solving problems hands-on in real-time is essential for true innovation. It's refreshing to see Monumental focus on this approach, allowing engineers to dive deep into understanding and improving the systems they work on. This kind of integration between software development and real-world application is a game-changer."
ooohhhh yeah Alfred Polycarpe!!! 😎 42 The Network - Codam College represent haha
And uni’s compete in robot football for example as a way to get into robotics as an engineer early on.
Well done Salar! Really amazing to see the journey so far. All the best.
Great work Alfred Polycarpe!

4mowhat a great application and impressive to see the automation work. Are there already companies using your technology or are you mostly in PoC stadium? Any interest in discussing how we can help you industrialize? (safety & security, scaling,- etc) Timo Sijbesma Nick Kiran
