Renewable Energy Recruitment Consultant | Engineers | Technicians | Installers | Specialists: Solar - Wind - Hydro - Tidal ✨Energy Storage Tech. ✨Developing Technologies ✅Quality > Quantity
🌊 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬: 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 I find immense satisfaction in uncovering talent for specialized projects that drive sustainable innovation. Today, let's dive into the fascinating world of micro hydro systems and the unique recruitment challenges and opportunities they present. Microhydro systems harness the power of flowing water to generate clean, renewable electricity on a small scale. Here are five key points to consider when recruiting technicians for these small-scale projects: 1. Technical Expertise: Recruiting technicians with a strong background in hydraulic engineering and electrical systems is essential. These individuals should possess the skills to design, install, and maintain micro hydro systems effectively. 2. Terrain Assessment: Candidates must have experience in conducting terrain assessments to identify suitable locations for micro hydro installations. This includes evaluating water flow, elevation changes, and environmental impact considerations. 3. Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes is crucial. Technicians should be well-versed in navigating local, state, and federal regulations to ensure project compliance and success. 4. Safety Protocols: Working with water-based energy systems presents inherent risks. It's imperative to recruit technicians who prioritize safety and adhere to industry-standard safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards. 5. Problem-Solving Skills: Given the intricacies of microhydro systems, technicians must possess strong problem-solving abilities. They should be capable of troubleshooting issues that arise during installation and operation, ensuring optimal system performance. Recruiting technicians for micro hydro projects requires a tailored approach to identify candidates with the right blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and problem-solving skills. I'm committed to connecting renewable energy companies with talented professionals who can drive the success of these sustainable initiatives. Are you involved in micro hydro projects or seeking opportunities in this niche field? I'd love to hear your experiences and insights! Share them in the comments below. ⚡ ________________________________ Interested in exploring opportunities in micro-hydro systems or need assistance with recruitment? Not one, not three but TWO generators in 12 months. Multi-trade job site, and one commissioning engineer 😎 There are few things more humbling than executing someone’s else vision. It takes courage to be open to new ways and be a student again.. a student of your very own project/s. Sound on, y’all, because this humming and rumbling sound is music to my ears 🎶 😋😭 While challenges and adversities did come up, the team rose to the occasion and delivered. Safe to say the assignment was understood. Shout out to all teams invloved; EH&S, New Buisness, Construction Management, Electric Operation, Electric Engineering, Gas Engineering, Gas Operation and last but not least our own Fabulous Facilites team. THANK YOU🙏 Ladies and gents - allow me to introduce to you our new back up generators in the O&R territory. * click on comments to see in-action pictures! #noplanmakeaplan #engineer #utility #power #generator #cummins #backupgenerator #construction #generatorrebuild #teamwork

In the Oil & Gas Industry reality can smack you in the face, but someone saved me from pain. At 25, as a Facilities Engineer, I was eager to get into the field with operations & maintenance whenever I could. They showed me what they did on a daily basis. They showed me the simple fixes they’d figured out. They taught me the way things ‘really’ work. It was an education! I LOVED these “dirt-road ride-alongs”. On one of those trips, the guys planned to change out the coalescing filter elements at a compressor station. I told them I wanted to do it, and they were glad to let me. But, I ended up getting myself into trouble. These filter elements are big. Like the ones in your a/c at home, but taller & longer. I thought the task was going to be fairly easy: Use a long stick to turn a giant wheel, access the filter, unscrew the cap, replace the element. No problem. But… As I was opening it, someone shouted, "Make sure it doesn't hit you in the face!" Honestly, I had not considered that possibility. The last thing in my mind was that an engineer would design it so it could smack me in the face. With the fear of face-smacking in my mind, everything seemed harder. After a few minutes, I asked for help. The guys got it loose. I pulled the old filter out. Put the new one in. Locked it in. Closed the door. Job done. But, not forgotten. When I’m engineering a solution, I remember this day. No one should have to worry about face-smacking filters. If you’re worried about working around a bad design, you aren’t focused on the job you’re supposed to be doing. I design for real people doing real work. I protect them at all costs. Like they protect me. Has reality ever smacked you in the face at work? 😅

From Power System Engineer to Grid Connection Manager 🛣 I recently had a chat with a Power System Engineer who’s exploring a shift to becoming a Grid Connection Manager and thought I'd share some insights from our chat that might be helpful if you're considering a similar move. What We Discussed: 😊 Transferrable skills: As a Power System Engineer, you’ve got strong technical & software expertise, regulatory & compliance knowledge, project management skills & analytical skills. These are all super valuable when transitioning to a Grid Connection Manager role. You already understand grid operations which will help a lot in your new role! 👌 Is there a need in the market? YES. The need for Grid Connection Managers is on the rise with the growth of renewable energy projects. This role is crucial for managing how new energy sources connect to the grid, and your background is a great fit for this. 📣 Tips for getting started: Aside from connecting (no pun intended) with a recruiter, you can chat with colleagues in the grid connection space, check out relevant certifications, and stay updated on industry trends. Also, PM me and I can share some great newsletters to follow!📰 If you’re thinking about a career shift or just curious about opportunities in the energy sector, let’s chat! I’m here to help and would love to connect and explore different career paths available to you. 🤗 #storytime #careerpath #careerdevelopment #hiring #engineers #renewableenergy
