ECO30 Day 27: Establish Your Home Garden Setting up a home garden is not only a rewarding and enjoyable activity but also a powerful way to promote sustainability, connect with nature, and enhance self-sufficiency. By growing your own fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, you can reduce your environmental footprint, improve food security, and create a biodiverse ecosystem right in your backyard or balcony. Home gardening plays a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability by reducing reliance on industrial agriculture, minimizing food miles, and conserving resources such as water and energy. It also fosters a deeper connection to nature, promotes biodiversity, and enhances resilience against climate change and food insecurity. #ECO30Impact

Transform your garden in 1 day. Join a Permablitz? Permablitz has become "a thing": Volunteers transform your garden in a productive and sustainable garden. ➡️ The concept originated from Melbourne. ➡️ I love it: Permablitz creates closed-loop systems, utilizing local resources and minimizing waste. And creates collaboration... ➡️ In just 1 day. Here are 5 cool facts about its impact: 1️⃣ Community Power: It gathers 15-20 volunteers, therefore builds community. 2️⃣ Food Security: A 100m² garden can yield up to 300kg of vegetables per year. 3️⃣ Carbon Footprint: Local food production cuts transportation CO2 emissions. 4️⃣ Biodiversity Boost: Permaculture gardens can increase local plant diversity. 5️⃣ Water Efficiency: Permaculture techniques can reduce water usage by up to 70% compared to traditional gardening methods. I wanna do one in Amsterdam. Up for it? #circulareconomy #innovation #zerowaste #permablitz Credit: Eco up

We invite you to read this fantastic change, actions and impacts for quality of living, conserving and sharing biodiversity. The globalized practices of massive plantations or major production industrial plants, for an unsustainable financially hungry and unhealthy food industry are being stopped and changed for better living of local people, neighboring towns and cities, while conserving unique natural habitats and ecosystems. What I love and celebrate of such change and impact is that it was not the ornithologist, nor the biologist, or the science community, or the ecotourism specialist, or the planning strategists, that or this "expert" in different fields, nor a government agency that did it, that took action for positive change. All of this process was created by humble visionary people with passion for their true wealth: their land, the native, natural forests and landscapes, not necessarily for creating a money making business, but as a consequence of creating and acting with a different purpose: quality of living, they are making a good living through nature tourism dollars. Education, conservation and empowering of local people are our purposes in life, part of our mission. We invite you to support these initiatives and visit them soon in biodiverse Ecuador, while conserving native forests, as well as having memorable great experiences you will treasure forever! Thank you Angie Drake for being part of this process https://lnkd.in/egxFmqhp

🌿🐝 Taking Action for Biodiversity At CRM Group, we're committed to sustainability, and our latest efforts are focused on enhancing biodiversity across our sites as part of our ODD certification. Working hand in hand with PlantC, we've implemented a range of initiatives to create a more biodiverse environment. Here's what we've been up to: 🏨 Insect Hotels: We've installed insect hotels to provide shelter and nesting spaces for our tiny, yet essential, insect friends. 🪨 Reptile Habitats: Stone arrangements have been strategically placed to create habitats for reptiles and snakes, promoting their presence and contributing to ecosystem diversity. 🌾 Late Mowing: Adopting a late mowing approach allows wildflowers and grasses to flourish, providing essential food and habitat for pollinators. 🌼 Educational Signage: Keep an eye out for our new educational panels! These informative signs will be installed at various locations, shedding light on local flora and fauna to raise awareness and appreciation. 🌿 Community Gardens: We're fostering a sense of community and sustainability by establishing shared gardens across several of our sites, encouraging colleagues to connect with nature and each other through gardening. Together, these initiatives represent our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and our dedication to creating a greener, more biodiverse future. Stay tuned for more updates on our sustainability journey! #Biodiversity #Sustainability #ODDCertification #Environmental #GreenInitiatives #CRMGroup
