Mr. Manuel Ojeda, founder and CTO of Morcom was interviewed during the 2024 Safer Buildings Coalition Wireless Tech & Policy Summit that took place in Washington D.C. last June. Mr. Ojeda spoke about the two different types of criteria used to design Cellular vs. Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). He explained how every project presents its own challenges, like for example when dealing with historical buildings Like the Robert F. Kennedy building. The Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building, also called "Main Justice", is the headquarters of the United States Department of Justice. It houses Department of Justice offices, including the office of the United States Attorney General. The building was completed in 1935. The building retains its original facades, lobbies, corridors, library, Great Hall, executive suites, and private offices, including the extensive use of ornamental aluminum. The installation of the DAS did not compromise any of these features. https://lnkd.in/ebDpAMPv #firstjustice #erces #rfkbuilding #publicsafetydas

In the previous blog post "A brief history of Metro" (Part 1), we talked about replication and Metro and how they are "the same but different". In this episode, we will look at the two ways in which a storage solution can implement Metro using uniform and non-uniform access methods. https://dell.to/3FXWGjq #iwork4dell

I have spent the last five years understanding how wireless technology would change in the future, when the user devices will be in the radiative near-field of large antenna arrays. There are important prospects to use spatial multiplexing to serve more users simultaneously, since traditional beamforming turns into finite-depth beamfocusing. Yet, I have grown to understand that much of the fundamental limits and algorithms developed for far-field MIMO are still applicable for near-field MIMO. In this new video, I dispel three misconceptions that are spreading in the related literature. Along the way, I’m explaining some of the fundamental properties that underpin the MIMO technology. The research insights presented in the video were developed in collaboration with Luca Sanguinetti, Özlem Tuğfe Demir, Parisa Ramezani, Alva Kosasih, Amna Irshad, Giacomo Bacci, and others. This presentation was prepared for the "Special Forum: Theory and Technology of 6G Near-Field Communications" at the 17th China Electronics & Information Conference, Pan Pacific Hotel, Ningbo, on April 27, 2024. Explore the geometric facts underlying how transit networks work and how these networks interact with the built environment to create ridership potential in this course from Jarrett Walker, now FREE on the Planetizen Courses site. This discussion includes a review of key principles and examples from various recent network designs. We review the multiple and competing goals for transit, and what difficult tradeoffs still need to be made in developing transit policy. We will also explore the relatively new concept of access to opportunity as a possibly unifying measure of a transit network’s success. https://lnkd.in/gGg9P3Uv
