𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝘆 '𝗡𝗼' 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 '𝗡𝗼': 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Saying "no" to the business doesn't have to hurt your career as an in-house counsel. Sometimes, although hopefully not too often, "no" 𝘪𝘴 the right response. The following two tips will help you deliver the occasional "no" in a way that lands gracefully and even strengthens your relationships with internal clients. 𝟭. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: Before you ever have to say "no," invest in building trust and rapport with your internal clients. By becoming a valued partner and advisor, your guidance, even when it's a "no," will be more respected and appreciated. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: When "no" is the right answer, make sure it's based on a solid understanding of the business and a clear explanation of the risks involved. Present your reasoning in a way that aligns with business goals and values. And whenever possible, offer alternative solutions or mitigation strategies, even if they aren't perfect. This will show your commitment to the company's success, even when the original plan is not legally viable. These tips can turn potentially career-limiting situations into opportunities to show your leadership and strategic thinking. 💬 How do you handle saying "no" to the business as an in-house counsel? #InHouseCounsel #GeneralCounsel #LegalAdvice #Leadership #CareerGrowth

The Power of External Expertise: Why Bringing in Outsiders Makes Your Business Stronger ... There's a common misconception that businesses need to be self-contained islands of knowledge. But the truth is, some of the most successful companies leverage the power of external experts to achieve outstanding results. Here's why bringing in outside professionals can be a game-changer: **Fresh Perspectives: Internal teams can get stuck in their ways. External experts bring new ideas and challenge assumptions, fostering innovation and growth. **Specialized Knowledge: Need a deep dive into a specific area? External consultants offer specialized skills and experience you might not have in-house. **Avoiding Blind Spots: Sometimes, we're too close to a problem to see it clearly. External experts can identify potential pitfalls and suggest solutions you might have missed. **Cost-Effectiveness: Hiring a consultant for a specific project can be more cost-effective than hiring a full-time employee for a specialized role. COO & Risk/Compliance Executive: Enhancing Business Strategy & Transformation, Mitigating Risks, Non-Profit Board Advisor
I've maintained friendships since 6th grade, formed incredible bonds post-college, and transformed colleagues into trusted advisors. Much like a company benefits from a board of directors, we all need our own personal board. “Who is in Your Personal Boardroom?” brilliantly advocates for this, emphasizing quality and diversity over sheer numbers in our networks. The book presents the Personal Boardroom concept—a select group providing guidance, support, and insights for career advancement. The book provides practical strategies for choosing key individuals who add diverse perspectives, enhancing innovation and decision-making. Emphasizing the importance of diversity, it shows how varied insights can boost creativity and results. It urges strategic network cultivation for meaningful connections. Intentionally selecting members for your Personal Boardroom can markedly influence your career growth. “Who is in Your Personal Boardroom?” is essential for refining your networking approach and advancing professionally. #Diversity #Inclusion #Leadership #Risk #Compliance #legal

🌟 Why Every Business Needs a Laura 🌟 We often talk about how critical a good team is to your success, but we truly don’t think we could cope without Laura, our incredible PA/EA at RecruitAbility. She’s the glue that holds everything together, and the thought of trying to manage our day-to-day operations without her is nothing short of terrifying! 😅 From managing diaries and meetings to anticipating every potential issue before it even arises, Laura ensures we stay organised, on track, and ahead of the game. She’s the quiet force behind every successful project, smoothing out the rough edges, and someone we couldn’t do without. We honestly don’t know how we managed before she came on board. The amount of time, stress, and energy saved because of her attention to detail and proactive approach is immeasurable. She’s the reason we can focus on growth, strategy, and driving the business forward. If you're a business owner or Director, believe me—investing in a brilliant PA/EA like Laura is invaluable. She’s not just an assistant; she’s a partner in the success of the company. 🏆 Thank you, Laura, for everything you do! 🙌 #PA #EA #BusinessSupport #ThankYou #RecruitAbility #Leadership #ExecutiveAssistant #IndispensableTeam
