How do we as trainers make boring subjects more engaging?
Creating Competent and Confident First Line Managers in 12 Weeks 🟠 Specialising in the Tech industry
Would you rather fake your own death than do compliance training? Or any other training, for that matter. We all get it. That mandatory #training that's so boring and full of jargon and legalese that we literally want to lie down in a dark room. Often this is self-study, usually e-learning. And kudos to those training providers who have jazzed things up with videos (we can skip) and quizzes (we can redo until we pass). I'm wondering if this is paying lip service to something that's really important? I remember Health and Safety training 20 years ago was like this until trainers like Alison Thomson decided we all deserved better. How can mandatory training be made more relevant, more engaging and easier to digest and remember? Maybe it's the design? Sheridan Webb - Creating Community for Lone LnD Practitioners Maybe it's the facilitation? Or is this a lost cause and we should just get it done as quickly as possible so that we can get the Complete check mark and then forget everything we've apparently learned? Really interested to know what you all think?
