We’re thrilled to partner with the charity Love of the Game for the third consecutive year for an event in October alongside Holland & Holland, championing concussion awareness in sports. We recently spoke with Simon Shaw, president of the charity and former rugby player, about their incredible work. Simon shared, “I started Love of the Game to drive awareness and funding of solutions that can prevent, diagnose, and treat concussion in sport, not just rugby, but all sports.” Check out the full article to learn from Simon about their mission and what’s next for the charity: https://lnkd.in/e96UhzFH #SparkBrilliance #LoveOfTheGame #ConcussionAwareness #SportsSafety #Charity Michelle Elkins Robin Dey Rob Frank

Building strong foundations. Being registered with the "funding regulators" is a step in the right direction as we aim to align with national pathways in society, so we can better meet their needs and serve the communities we work with. That said, we have a comprehensive set of policies in place, which allows others to collaborate with us more easily. This is very important, especially since we have limited resources. Having partnerships, collaborations, and grant funding enables all organizations to leverage these arrangements. For London Basketball Association this means we can more effectively hit our charitable objectives. #FundingRegulated #NonprofitOrganization #CharitableObjectives #CommunityImpactThat #Partnerships #Collaboration #GrantFunding #LeverageResources #ImpactfulCollaboration

If your algorithm is anything like mine today will be FULL of posts about the Scottish Charity Awards. I'm not usually one for glitzy events, but I make an exception for tonight. It matters that we lift up people who work every day to bring hope, fun, connection and change to make Scotland a better place to live. Our sector deserves a moment in the sun. ☀ If you've not been before here's my bingo card for the evening: 1. At least five conversations about how sore our feet are 2. A charity gaining a new trustee who has been inspired by their work 3. Someone forgetting the tissues and using a napkin to dry their eyes 4. At least ten conversations where we are too polite to admit we don't recognise the other person because they look different on zoom 5. Politicians staying for the whole evening because it's actually fun 6. Everyone (except vegetarians) being surprised by how nice vegetarian food is 7. One table that's rowdier than the others and the rest of us feeling jealous 8. One guest at the end of the night making sure any leftover wine doesn't go to waste 9. Alex - SCVO's amazing events manager - mouthing along with Sally Magnusson's script word for word 10. All of the finalists going back to real life tomorrow with a bit more juice in their tank. Ready for the next challenge. If you can't make it along in person please join us on the livestream- you can wear your slippers and laugh at everyone silly enough to attempt a heel. #charity #awards #scotland #sallymagnusson #essentialsector
🤩 The Scottish Charity Awards are almost here! 📺 Follow along LIVE tonight as we announce our winners by tuning in to our YouTube livestream at 8.45pm. 🫶 Remember to get behind your favourite finalists using #ScotCharityAwards on social media too!
