We believe that building stronger, smoother, accelerated pathways between K-12 education, postsecondary education, and careers is not only necessary to grow our economy, but also to address inequality in our communities. Our work leading the #AccelerateED community is central to this mission. We wanted to know, what would it take for every high school student to have the opportunity to earn college credits without the financial burden? To complete an associate degree one year after high school? To gain valuable experience and career preparation in a field of interest during high school? And while we are excited to tell you all about this work, instead we think it’s better to hear directly from the students who are most impacted by it. Up first in our new student voice video series, meet Qamar Ayyoubi, a rising senior at Kettering Fairmont High School in Ohio and nursing pathway student, is earning college credits in high school toward a degree and high-demand career in healthcare: https://lnkd.in/g8wRcZZS

There are three big questions we have to answer that will significantly impact our life: 1) What to do for a living. 2) Where to live. 3) Who to love/partner up with. It’s fascinating how much of our formal education gears us up to answer that first question diligently. We spend years learning the skills for our future jobs, but when it comes to figuring out where to plant our roots or who to partner up with, it’s as if we’re left to wing it. But yet all three equally shape us.

Justin, the Service DOG, has not only received a DIPLOMA at Seton Hall University's Graduation but has also taught us valuable Career Lessons through his Remarkable achievements. ↳Recognition of Contributions —Justin's diploma signifies the recognition of his contributions. —In our careers, it's essential to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of all team members, recognizing that every role, no matter how small, contributes to the bigger picture. ↳Inclusive Work Environment —Justin's presence at the graduation ceremony represents inclusivity. —In our careers, fostering an inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and included leads to greater creativity, #collaboration, and overall success. ↳Support Systems —Justin's role as a service dog highlights the importance of support systems in our careers. —Just as Justin supported his owner, having a strong support system, including colleagues, mentors, and friends, can help us navigate challenges and achieve our goals. ↳#Adaptability and Resilience —Despite the distractions of a graduation ceremony, Justin remained focused and adaptable. —In our careers, being able to adapt to change and remain resilient in the face of challenges is key to long-term success. 🎈Justin's achievement reminds us to appreciate the contributions of all team members, create inclusive work environments, cultivate strong support systems, and embrace adaptability and resilience in our #careers.
