The Projector Project (An Update): As some of you may not know, over the summer our 15 year old projector began failing. We have been fortunate to have it last this long, but we are in dire need of a new projector. As a nonprofit, a purchase of this size is nearly impossible, so we are working on applying for grants as we continue trying to raise funds for a new piece of equipment. Luckily, this week we were able to reach out to a new company that has brand new laser projectors available to us for around $32,000. This is closer to the original $35,000 that we were quoted, but a far cry from our most recent quote of $65,000. Not only are these projectors a huge upgrade from what we have now, but they also eliminate the need for us to run exhaust, as well as purchase expensive bulbs. This alone would save us thousands of dollars per year in our electric bill and projector bulb purchases. We are hoping that the knowledge that we can find a brand new projector for nearly HALF the price of what we were expecting to pay offers a ray of hope to the people of our Community the way that it has us. While a number of generous contributions have been made towards this project, the reality is that we still need over $25,000 to finalize the purchase of this equipment. If you feel called to do so this Holiday Season, we are asking for individuals and businesses to consider making a one time, tax-deductible donation to our Historic 1928 Theater. With YOUR help, we are optimistic that we will make it to our 100th year anniversary in 2028. Can you help us keep the magic alive this Christmas? House Rabbit Network is embarking on its largest-scale project yet: a full internal reconstruction of the Westford shelter. This project is a huge step forward for us, because not only will it allow us to house more rabbits in the shelter, but we will be adding a clinic space within the building as well. This clinic space will be a game changer for us, allowing us to perform our own small-scale medical procedures including spays and neuters, and we hope that in the next year or two we will also be able to open this clinic to the public. This clinic will save us an incredible amount of money over the long term, allowing us to reallocate funds that would have been used for these procedures to other endeavors for the bunnies. Ultimately, this construction project will make us more self-sufficient and will ensure we're using the donations of our supporters in the absolute best way possible to save even more bunnies than we have in the past. But this life-changing project will not be possible without each of you. As a thank-you to our supporters for making this new space a possibility, and to incorporate all of you and your love for your bunnies into our new space, we are offering four tiers of thank-you gifts to individuals and teams who help us create this space. Based on how much an individual or team raises, they will get a small, medium, or large painting of a bunny they would like to commemorate, which will be placed on a wall of honor in our new space. Anyone can create a fundraising team and ask their family, friends, colleagues, etc to join their team and all work together to raise funds for this massive undertaking. This will be in addition to them also receiving a large painting of their bunny of honor. On top of all of this, we have an extremely generous supporter who will be matching this fundraiser dollar for dollar up to our goal of $200,000, so for every dollar you help us to raise, you can know it will have double the impact! This fundraiser will be going until August 30th, directly after which we will follow up with our supporters on the thank-you gifts they have earned.
