Is it blue Monday? – or is it the rehashing of a cynical add campaign, created by an airline company, designed to sell more flights in January – an airline company that has since gone bust. I understand how we can feel like this at this time of yea: ❌ There is no break looming ❌ Those Bills are coming due from Christmas ❌ The weather is crap and we aren’t getting enough outdoors air, ❌ Those well intentioned resolutions have all fallen by the wayside ❌ We find ourselves back where we don’t want to be – still not making changes we want to make Of course that can be depressing. That can bring us down. If we let it. And that’s key. ----- Adding ‘blue’ before a Monday does not give it any more power over you than was already there. If we let the external circumstances impact us and control us, We are giving away our power, Our peace, Our selves. ------ What are the things that are causing us to feel low? What can we do about them. Whats the smallest action we can take to change it.... Theres where to focus instead of how its making us feel. And if ‘Blue’ is every Monday – then you owe yourself to do something to change that. ---- Remember. Today is just a day. It doesn’t mean any different to any other day, unless you let it. #Blue Monday Is that so? Today is going depend for the most part on how you face into it, what you do with it and how you respond to whatever happens. Yes, the weather is terrible, yes it is just after Christmas and yes there is possibly more month than money. Today will come and go - make of it what you will. What is infinitely more interesting is that this is the week when people tend to stop their New Year Resolutions! Focus on that instead of focusing on feeling terrible because somebody assigned negativity to the third Monday in January! Decide for yourself how your day is going to be. Today is Blue Monday, the name given to the third Monday in January which is said to be the most depressing day of the year. There appears to be no scientific reason for today to be Blue Monday, it just is. There are however some who claim to have created mathematical formulas to validate today factoring in such variables as debt, monthly salary, time since Christmas, and even the time since the failure of your first New Year's resolution if you can believe it. Interesting stuff for sure, but one thing we can agree with is that there will always be times where your financial picture may cause you stress and unnecessary worry. The good news is that there is no time like the present to begin your journey to financial freedom and seek the advice of a trusted advisor. 2moBrew Monday is a more positive way to interact with friends, colleagues family. Blue Monday doesn't exist. In 2005 was set up by a holiday company to get you to book a holiday away. Lots of mental health charities use today to get conversations going. Better to talk over a Brew with biscuits or cake. Show that you are really listening by turning your mobile phone over. Sit and listen but never judge or offer solutions. #ANDYSMANCLUB Samaritans Mind
