CNN Thank you for taking the time to let people know the state of the hospital post IDF operation. Just a small note, can you also include how many Hamas high level commanders were captured? Or high light that under the convention, this hospital should not be used to protect, store, or be used by Hamas? And if it used for military purposes then the IDF has the right to view it as a legitimate target! Now I was not there but this is the definition of close contact warfare! Can you try to do some actual reporting and include the number of civilians killed? This was an operation that will redefine urban warfare and military planers will study to learn from it! If you disagree let me know l, here or privately let’s have an honest discussion! #OpenToDiscuss

I don't think this is something new it's been known for sometime. The report highlights that the UK Armed Forces are currently equipped with sufficient readiness for operations, enabling them to fulfill standing and contingent commitments. Positive. However, the breadth of these commitments is straining budgets, constraining training opportunities, and impacting personnel retention. known known Additionally, the report acknowledges the existence of potential challenges or threats on the horizon, metaphorically described as "storm clouds," indicating the need for preparedness and proactive measures. known unknown. main recommendations: 1. Addressing the strain on budgets caused by extensive commitments to alleviate constraints on training and personnel retention. known known. 2. Prioritising the development of warfighting readiness to ensure preparedness for potential future challenges or threats. known known. 3. Implementing proactive measures to address potential challenges or threats indicated by the metaphorical "storm clouds" on the horizon. known unknown. definition of readiness: The report defines readiness as the capability of the UK Armed Forces to carry out standing operations and contingent commitments effectively. This includes being adequately prepared, equipped, and trained to fulfill operational tasks as required. see the first point. The report on Armed Forces Readiness has been published and I can’t say it makes for enjoyable reading. I suspect for a large number of my military colleagues this will bring many long-standing frustrations (and realities) into public consciousness and awareness more than before 😕

Nine Israeli soldiers lost their lives in combat yesterday. This isn't just a statistic; it's a profound statement about the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) moral compass in warfare. This tragic event underscores a vital point about the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) – their commitment to morality in warfare. The IDF could unleash aerial power indiscriminately. But they don't. Why? To minimize uninvolved civilian casualties. This decision comes with a steep cost – the safety of their own. Contrast this with the enemy's tactics, where civilians are often used as shields. The IDF's approach is about strategic morality, not just power. The loss of these soldiers is a stark reminder: the IDF chooses a path of restraint and precision, a path that respects life, even in the heat of conflict. #israel #news #usnews #uknews #israelnews #worldnews #breakingnews #latestnews #antisemitism #israelhamaswar #israelwar

Exciting progress ahead! To fully leverage this new hardware and software, the Army must undergo a cultural and training transformation. It's crucial to embody the principles of Mission Command rather than just discussing them. This means empowering subordinates, embracing risk, and being comfortable with not having complete battlefield awareness.
One size may not fit all. Large-scale combat operations will require commanders to lead on the move, with the ability to disperse at a moment’s notice. With a continued focus on #ArmyTransformation, Army leaders are looking to modernize existing vehicle-based Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2) units. Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gvG7zwdC

PDF Innovation, Transformation, and War: Counterinsurgency Operations in Anbar and Ninewa Provinces, Iraq, 2005-2007 James A. Russell digsell https://lnkd.in/eTHZskDj Within a year of President George W. Bush announcing the end of major combat operations in Iraq in May 2003, dozens of attacks by insurgents had claimed hundreds of civilian and military lives. Through 2004 and 2005, accounts from returning veterans presaged an unfolding strategic debacle–potentially made worse by U.S. tactics being focused on extending conventionally oriented military operations rather than on adapting to the insurgency. By 2007, however, a sea change had taken place, and some U.S. units were integrating counterinsurgency tactics and full-spectrum operations to great effect. In the main, the government and the media cited three factors … Read More » https://lnkd.in/e9Xzzti9

🇬🇧💬 Is the UK ready for war? Dr Simon Anglim was quoted on the First Report of Session 2023–24 by the Defence Committee, which provides a comprehensive evaluation of the readiness of the UK Armed Forces. For Dr Anglim, operational readiness means having enough trained personnel, functional equipment, and the necessary systems and infrastructure to deploy, transport, support, and maintain them wherever and whenever required. When soldiers are severely injured, their survival chances are enhanced by rapid evacuation from point of wounding to a location where they can receive specialised medical treatment. Unfortunately, conventional stretchers are often difficult to transport to point of injury, often leading to delays in evacuation and increased risk of secondary injuries due to use of sub optimal equipment. Correctly designed lightweight stretchers offer a crucial advantage by being an acceptable size and weight which allows the soldier to have it available at point of wounding . In our recent article, we will discuss the benefits of utilising lightweight stretchers in military operations. Read more: https://bit.ly/4byar5v #Military #Evacuation #Medical

#GPS jamming attack for defence? After 3 months of war here in #Israel, there are still GPS jamming all over the country. The IDF already admitted that it was an intentional military move, and if in the past were used to seeing #Jammingattacks by criminals and military only in the enemy's field, we can be sure about the significant importance of it also at defence needs. The problem is that when you are #JammingGPS to #disrupt your enemy abilities, you also jamming yourself, that why is you need GPSdome2 at your side - ensuring continuity of autonomous #navigation and operation during jamming conditions, no other solution that offers such #protection is a small, light, affordable and easily installed as #GPSdome2. https://lnkd.in/g9asxeQr SGM Ryan Nemeth, USSOCOM Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor, and I had a great time meeting with a delegation of Ukrainian medical personnel (military and civilian) who were in town for a week meeting with clinicians from the Haley Veterans Hospital. SGM Nemeth and I talked about what the SOCOM Surgeon's Office does to provide medical support to Special Operations Forces around the world. We learned from the Ukrainians about how their frontline medical treatment and evacuation protocols have been impacted by the unique characteristics of the war there. Most interesting was the discussion of how they've adapted the Tactical Combat Casualty Care guidelines to best support frontline treatment and evacuation of their casualties. Drones, both friendly and enemy, have impacted their protocols, as have prolonged evacuation times and the need to provide prolonged casualty care in many circumstances. The hard-fought lessons they've learned over nearly two years of war, including the need for torniquet reassessment and sometimes conversion, will help inform changes to the Tactical Care Combat Casualty Care guidelines and benefit American casualties and those of our allies in the future.
