Prof. Bruria Adini, our Department Head, in a short video encompassing both recent scientific output on Israeli resilience, as well as a strong demonstration of the association between scientific theory and public policy. No wonder we go by "𝘗𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦." 🤓

https://lnkd.in/dAAndpCy - From 2019 to 2022, BiH did not fully fulfill any of the 14 key priorities. Despite this, the country was granted candidate status in December 2022. Taking that into account, it can be concluded that this government at the state level has done far more since the beginning of the mandate than it was done during the previous mandate. More could have been done, but the recommendation by the EC for the opening of negotiations is nevertheless deserved. -Bosnia and Herzegovina is still far from being prepared for EU membership, but one thing is clear, the state and its authorities will only strengthen, not weaken, through the process of European integration. -With the granting of candidate status, the EU member states agreed that in addition to the 14 priorities from May 2019, Bosnia and Herzegovina should fulfill nine additional steps, which is significantly more than for other countries in the process. - In its November 2023 report on Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Commission stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina has regressed in 3 key priorities and the regression refers to the decisions made in Bosnia and Herzegovina's entity Republika Srpska: 1.) Law on non-application of decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted in the National Assembly of the RS 2.) The draft law that refers to civil society actors as 'foreign agents' 3.) Introduction of criminal penalties "with disproportionate restrictions" for defamation

Last Tuesday we had our "first" online President Meeting with all presidents of the members of ANSE. In total 23 persons representing 18 Full members, Associate members and Network partners of ANSE and 5 ANSE board members. Nice to see familiar faces, and to welcome new presidents of several associations and to meet new network partners Poland and Bulgaria. Topics were: Statutes of ANSE, future of Presidents meetings and how to continue with the Quality Talks. It was a fruitful and inspiring meeting. Because this meeting was 10 months before our bi-annual General Assembly, the outcomes can be used for the GA. In the past the President Meeting was always one day before the GA and in that case, it was hard to use the outcomes. In the future we are planning to have these meetings more often. #ANSEsupervision #ANSE #ANSE_PM #PresidentMeeting
