It's all about public accounting firms looking to scale. There are many marginalized CPAs (already owning their own pubic accounting firms) who are fully competent and capable of handing the bandwidth required to scale their business exponentially. For example going from 60 clients to 150 - 200 clients (and more after reaching that point and evaluating business operations and position) is very doable and manageable for a very experienced public accountant. The question is, if you're going to become an equity partner, can you bring what's needed for the business to scale? Can you bring in sales expertise? That's it. If you can do this, then without a question, Yes, partnering with an accounting firm is worth every bit of the risk and the rewards.
You have just been offered the chance to become an equity partner with an accounting firm. Are the risks worth the rewards? https://bit.ly/489YktY

🏢Private equity (PE) firms have taken an interest in professional services businesses over the past decade. 🆙And since 2021, tax and accounting firms are experiencing a marked increase in this PE interest. 💸In a three-year period, PE firms have purchased stakes in five of the top 26 tax and accounting firms. From Thomson Reuters: “Many industry observers would think that it would be unheard off for a private equity firm to be interested in investing in small accounting firms simply because of their size. For PE firms, however, this instead represents a potentially limitless opportunity because the majority of accounting firms are small ones. Indeed, some small firms can be surprised by the interest they received from PE firms.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e5jJcdB4 #CPA #Accountant #TaxPros #Tax #Taxes #Accounting #Accountancy #Bookkeeping #Finance #Advisory #Audit #Auditing #Deal #Deals #PrivateEquity #Invest #Investment #Investing
