Investigation of structural and microstructural properties of hematite synthesized in the presence of oleic acid Research Overview: The study examines the synthesis of hematite (α-Fe2O3) using the co-precipitation method, employing oleic acid as a surfactant to prevent particle agglomeration. Various characterization techniques were employed: FTIR Analysis: Detected Fe-O bands within the 400 to 750 cm−1 range, signifying the presence of α-Fe2O3. XRD Analysis: Validated the formation of pure phase α-Fe2O3 in samples prepared without oleic acid. SEM Imaging: Illustrated the development of spherical particles with an average size below 200 nm, consistent with particle size distribution observed via Dynamic Light Scattering. UV-VIS Spectroscopy: Demonstrated strong absorption in the UV region and weak absorption in the visible region, indicating the optical characteristics of the synthesized hematite. In summary, the research offers insights into the structural and microstructural attributes of the synthesized hematite nanoparticles, showcasing the effectiveness of the co-precipitation method with oleic acid as a surfactant.
