Our new paper entitled 3D atlas of the human fetal chondrocranium in the middle trimester and published in Scientific Data (by Springer Nature Group) is finally online. In this work advanced microCT scanning was used that includes contrast enhancement to generate the first 3D atlas of the human fetal chondrocranium during the middle trimester (13 to 19 weeks). In addition, since cartilage and bone are both visible with the techniques used, the endochondral ossification of cranial base was mapped since this region is so critical for brain and jaw growth. Thanks for all our partners from a wide international team: Joy Richman and Siddharth Vora from The University of British Columbia, Brian Metscher from Universität Wien | University of Vienna and Igor Adameyko from Karolinska Institutet for pursuing this work. Individual cells are captured, prepped for analyte, visualized, selected, and lasered. Thousands of single cells can be analyzed in minutes.
