Director - Strategy, Research and Organizational Performance at DRPS- Durham Regional Police Service
A lot of takeaways from this article for organizations, regardless of industry, as it traces the evolving landscape of strategic concepts. I especially appreciate the consideration of partnerships – something that Durham Regional Police Service has included in our most recent Strategic Plan. Crime, like any other complex concept, has determinants that extend beyond what police can and should address. It makes sense then, that the various agencies that can address some of these determinants, work in partnership. One other thing I will say about the article, however, is that the methodology employed to identify successful organizations, relies solely on financial metrics to define success and overlooks other important factors like organizational culture, customer satisfaction, and long-term sustainability. A more holistic approach to evaluating success would provide a more nuanced understanding of the relationship between strategic choices and performance. https://lnkd.in/gBRiUXcw
