🔄 Innovation and Sustainability in Surfboard Shaping: Reflections from Melbourne Design Week 🔄 The discussions at the "The Future of Surfboard Shaping" event underscored the need for ongoing innovation and knowledge sharing. Hannah Mangall pointed out that while there has been plenty of innovation over the past 15 years, we still face challenges in balancing sustainability with performance. Her call to avoid cheap, mass-produced boards and her belief in the potential of flax cloth improvements are aligned with our mission at Afterglow Surfboards. We believe that caring for and repairing our boards is crucial for sustainability. Our commitment is to create high-performance boards that last, using materials that reduce our environmental footprint. We also recognize the problem of greenwashing within our industry. True sustainability comes from transparency and genuine efforts to reduce environmental impact. At Afterglow Surfboards, we are dedicated to these principles and will continue to push for meaningful change. Below is a board that focussed on delivering performance, while also achieving the unique style requested. #SurfingInnovation #SustainableShaping #AfterglowSurfboards #FutureOfSurfing

Spectacular Video Shows Renovation Work at the Hungaroring. Despite the winter and the rainy weather, work is still in full swing at the Hungaroring race track in Mogyoród (near Budapest). In the first phase of the works, the contractor Market Építő Zrt. is modernizing the utilities and infrastructure, and will only start rebuilding the main grandstand after the mid July Formula 1 race, Magyar Építők reports. The government made the decision on the development of the Hungaroring in April 2023. The first phase of the works, which are currently underway, will modernize the utilities and infrastructure to meet the requirements of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile). A spectacular drone footage of the second phase of the track development has been published on the Hungaroring’s YouTube channel: In the second phase, a consortium of Market Építő Zrt. and Bayer Construct Zrt. will renew the 10,000-seat main grandstand, the main building and the paddock, and build two pedestrian tunnels, one for drivers and sports staff, and another for guests. The project will involve the demolition of the main building to make way for a modern, cost-effective new structure. Four technical and 36 race pits will be built, with a racing control center, catering and VIP areas attached to the main building, and the paddock area will be extended. According to Magyar Építők, the timing of the works is of paramount importance, as the agreement with the Formula 1 rights holder stipulates that no unfinished buildings or construction-related activities will be allowed on the Hungaroring during the races. The Hungarian Grand Prix has a contract to host the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix until 2032, and this year the race will take place between July 19-21. The full renewal of the Hungaroring could be completed by 2026, the track’s 40th birthday. Related article2024 Hungarian Grand Prix Formula 1 Tickets to Be the CheapestTickets for the Hungaroring next year will cost on average 12.5 percent more than in 2023.Continue reading Via Magyar Építők; Featured image: Facebook/Hungaroring The post Spectacular Video Shows Renovation Work at the Hungaroring appeared first on Hungary Today. https://lnkd.in/djuKZh2v

I regularly hear brands say 'we try hard to be authentic.' Authentic shouldn't be hard. It either is, or it isn't. If you're forcing it, it's not really authentic. Our latest article is a beautifully written account of a single day in the life of Jessica Golding as she takes on the epic NorthCape4000. Precisely the kind of content I want to read, and an absolute privilege to be able to publish. Jess discovered KOSTÜME in the most authentic way possible - a fellow rider recommendation during an event. In fact, as a brand that currently does zero paid ads, that's how almost all our customers find us. Customer numbers are up 250% this year, in 26 countries, and not a single penny to Zuck and Co. We make standout products, with standout materials, at standout prices, responsibly. Like authenticity, it's not rocket science. Jess has a brilliantly immersive writing style, and perfectly captures some of the highs and lows - and occasionally the downright ridiculousness - of riding these multi-day races. I guarantee a couple of hearty chuckles even if you've never turned a pedal. "Changing the Game: Classic vs. Contemporary Brands of Golf Clubs" Golf and its kit have gone through significant changes over the years. The transformation of golf clubs is particularly intriguing. "Timber vs. Metal" Historical Approach: Golf clubs, in the old days, were made from timber, notably persimmon or hickory, which offered a distinctive touch and sound. Current Approach: Nowadays, manufacturers prefer titanium or stainless steel for clubs. These materials are more durable, lighter, and boost the speed of the swing. Key Difference: The shift in materials has had a substantial impact on the game, allowing players to hit the ball further and with more precision. "Artistry vs. Technology" Historical Approach: In the past, golf clubs were made by hand by talented craftsmen, which resulted in each piece having its own unique personality. Current Approach: Contemporary clubs are produced with the aid of computer-aided design (CAD) and other sophisticated technologies for precision and consistency. Key Difference: Though manual artistry offers uniqueness, technology delivers uniformity and accuracy, which can significantly influence performance. "Adaptability" Historical Approach: Traditional clubs came with fixed specifications - a one-size-fits-all approach. Current Approach: Current clubs offer a degree of adaptability in loft, lie, and weight, allowing the player to customise their club to their style and conditions. Key Difference: The ability to adapt provides an edge in terms of customisation and flexibility, which improves both performance and comfort. Both classic and modern golf clubs have their own distinct features, and personal preference plays a significant role in the selection. Embracing modern developments could give a competitive advantage, but the allure of the traditional is undeniable. How have your golf club selections evolved over time? So, this is #tigerwoods new #brand. In partnership with #taylormade, who know how to make golf equipment, but clearly not #apparel. It was always going to be a letdown after #nike, They know what they’re doing. But, this…yikes! I wonder how much proper research they did? And who ‘designed’ the logo… #sportsmarketing #branding

Innovation marketing for high-end market, with the mission of transforming the marketing and communications of heritage and modern brands into assets that generate growth | Supporter of the culture of modern business
Adrenaline building. I remember that period very well; I was also an enthusiast of this novelty, which then became almost a lifestyle, a culture, and now, undoubtedly, a matter of fashion. Aggressive skating emerged in the 1990s as a flashier, niche style of roller skating. Like other ’90s trends, it has resurfaced once again. This isn't the first time we've encountered an initiative of this kind bridging architecture, interior design, and community-building, but this time we're not stopping at the allure of skateboarding. F51, located in Kent, England, is the world's first multi-level skatepark, nicknamed the adrenaline building. It's a three-story structure that includes a boxing gym and a climbing wall in addition to the skatepark. Situated in the heart of the Creative Quarter of the maritime community, the skatepark designed by Maverick has replaced an existing facility with a new multi-level experience that allows users to utilize the space in an ascending manner, increasing intensity as their skills develop. Commissioned by the local Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, it was created to provide the youth of the area with "the freedom and opportunity to push both physical and mental limits within a safe space away from screens." 🙌 Curious about the intersection of architecture, interior design, and community-building? # 262 ARCHITECTURE, United Kingdom 👉 More contents on our website, the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write me privately.
