We wish everyone knew this about changing lanes... 🤦 If you ever find yourself needing to change multiple lanes on the highway there is a CORRECT and SAFE way to do so... ➡️ Signal: Use your blinker to signal your lane change to other drivers. ➡️ Mirrors: Check your rearview and side mirrors to make sure that you have plenty of space. ➡️ One at a Time: Only move over one lane at a time. Be sure to signal with your blinker and check your mirrors again with each lane change. Moral of the story, take your time and make sure it is safe before you start to move over.

Observation from the porch. The cars across the street, while parked illegally for the yearly Art-in-the/Park event, are proving a point. Their mere presence is acting to help slow the traffic, and once again has me questioning why instead of switching sides every few months we don’t just allow parking on both sides of the street. Opposing cars coming into conflict yield, at least one of them yields. That’s the way it works in urban areas and that’s the simplest way to do traffic calming as opposed to #speedhumps.

So driving in Hillsborough and Pinellas County’s today. I feel like a lot of folks forgot some basic car etiquette. If you don’t want to read I addded a video: Yes, you should treat a four-way intersection with a non-working traffic light as a four-way stop: Stop: Come to a complete stop at the intersection Yield: Yield the right of way to other vehicles, including pedestrians Proceed: Proceed when other vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians have stopped Communicate: Use turn signals to indicate your intentions Be patient: Expect delays and avoid aggressive maneuvers If multiple vehicles arrive at the same time, the right of way proceeds in a clockwise direction. You should also be careful if other signals that you can't see are not blacked out and other drivers have the right-of-way. https://lnkd.in/eufNgduK

It's a foggy one out there today! Our drivers will be taking extra care on the roads up and down the country. Driving in foggy conditions can be challenging and dangerous. Reduced visibility and slippery roads require extra caution. Here are some key tips to ensure you stay safe on the road: 🚗 Slow Down: Fog can make it difficult to see what's ahead. Reduce your speed to give yourself more time to react to unexpected situations. 🔦 Use Low Beams: High beams can reflect off the fog and impair your visibility even more. Stick to low beams or fog lights to illuminate the road effectively. 🔗 Maintain Distance: Increase the distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. This extra space can help prevent collisions if sudden stops are necessary. 📱 Avoid Distractions: Stay focused on the road. Eliminate any distractions like mobile phones or loud music that can divert your attention. 🚨 Signal Early: Use your turn signals earlier than usual to alert other drivers of your intentions. #RoadSafety #DrivingTips #FogSafety #SafeDriving #PublicSafety #Transport #Haulage
