Day 2 was great information on what's working well and where there is room for growth in the provinces and territories. It's always easier to criticize what's not working that it is to dream of solutions or identify/celebrate what is working well. We worked together to learn what's involved in making change and heard from some folks who ran for elected positions in school boards and government to have their voices heard and make change. The afternoon was a great learning experience in roundtable discussions including via zoom on the process of 1. "taking stock" gathering information from community on existing gaps and strengths in existing public policy based on the needs of Autistics (via consultation, collaboration and campaigns from and with people with lived experience, researchers, advocacy groups etc.) to inform government; 2. "generating potential solutions" discussing potential improvements / solutions, presenting a plan with clearly articulated goals and timelines; 3. "prioritizing solutions" by importance, or number of people it would benefit (keeping in mind provincial/territorial governments have on healthcare, education, social services under their jurisdiction while the federal government shares jurisdiction with provinces/territories on housing, employment and research); 4. "refining solutions" to present a specific action ready for government action, then 5. "advocating" for solutions, making sure the 'ask' is specific, measurable, understandable and practical.

Understanding Humans from the Ground Up: The Power of Childhood The foundation of human behavior is built in childhood. If we want to understand adults, we must start by understanding their early years. Working with children—especially those with neurodiversity—provides deep insights into how we grow, adapt, and function in the world. By addressing these early stages, I help individuals and families unlock potential, resilience, and well-being in their lives. When we focus on the root, we build stronger futures. #HumanBehavior #ChildhoodDevelopment #Neurodiversity #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #Wellbeing
