The Goodness of Work in a Season of Gratitude, Reflection, and Connection For many, this season represents peace, joy, and a reminder of something greater than ourselves. Beyond the festive lights and warm gatherings, Christmas also offers a profound insight into the goodness of work. Work isn’t just about earning a living or achieving goals—it’s about creating value, serving others, and honoring our unique gifts. Whether you’re building products, solving problems, or supporting your team, every role contributes to something larger than ourselves. In the Christmas story, we see work woven into its fabric: shepherds diligently tending their flocks, an inn keeper finding a humble place for a family. Their work wasn’t glamorous, but it was meaningful. In our own professional lives, we can carry this spirit forward: - Every task, big or small, can make a difference. - Share your time, knowledge, and encouragement freely. - Celebrate the opportunities we have to contribute and grow. This season, let’s not only pause to celebrate with family and friends but also take pride in the work we’ve done and the value we’ve created. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and may the year ahead be filled with meaningful work, shared success, and moments of peace. #WorkWithPurpose #MerryChristmas #Gratitude #MeaningfulWork

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗹 As Christmas Eve settles in, it’s a perfect moment to pause and reflect—not just on the holiday season but on the year we’re leaving behind. The hustle and bustle of the professional world often leave little time for stillness, but tonight offers a unique chance to express gratitude: • Gratitude for the opportunities we’ve had to grow. • Gratitude for the people—colleagues, mentors, teams—who’ve shared this year’s journey. • Gratitude for the lessons, even the challenging ones, that have shaped who we are. Christmas Eve is also about looking forward with hope and intention. Whether you’re celebrating with loved ones or enjoying a quiet moment of solitude, consider what you want to bring into the New Year: ✨ What values will guide you? ✨ What goals will inspire you? ✨ How will you use the year ahead to make a positive impact on those around you? Tonight is about more than a holiday—it’s about connection, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose. Wishing you peace, joy, and clarity as we step into another chapter together. Merry Christmas Eve! 🎄 #ChristmasEveReflections #Gratitude #LookingAhead #ProfessionalGrowth

Thursday Thought: During your day today, stop and notice how much time you complain about something or someone. So many of us seem to spend much of our moments commenting and complaining about something or someone. Each time you do (and if it is a habit it may be hard to notice when you are doing it), ask yourself - can I do something about this? If yes, add it to your list to improve. If not, leave it alone and replace the complaint with gratitude about something great you see, feel or find. This can not only build a better habit (diminish complaining), but also help you feel healthier and more grateful. This can be particularly helpful around the holidays... just saying... #readyforlife #complaining #gratitude #holidays

Do you still send Christmas cards? Here's why I still love this holiday tradition 🎄💌 As I look at this picture of my two little girls—who light up my world every single day—I can’t help but reflect on how far life has taken me. Growing up with humble beginnings, I never imagined I’d one day have the means (or the joy!) to send out Christmas cards of my own. But now, not only do I get to create these cards, I get to share them with people I love and admire. For some, holiday cards might feel like a chore (which is understandable and good for you for removing one thing from your to do list), but for me, they’re a reminder to pause and soak in the gratitude. Gratitude for: ✨ My family, who fills my heart in ways I can’t describe. ✨ The opportunity to do work that I truly love—coaching incredible women, speaking on topics like confidence and psychology in the workplace, and helping others get out of their own way and step into their full potential. ✨ A life I could have only dreamed of as a kid. Sending these cards and receiving them from others feels like a simple but meaningful way to spread connection and joy. To my family, my friends, my clients, and everyone who has crossed my path this year—thank you for making my journey so full. As we close out the year, I hope you take a moment to reflect on what you’re grateful for and the incredible things you’ve accomplished (even the ones that felt small—they matter!). From my family to yours, happy holidays! May this season bring you joy, peace, and the confidence to step into the new year with boldness and authenticity. 💌 What are you most grateful for this holiday season? Let’s share and spread some cheer! #HappyHolidays #Family #Gratitude #Confidence #WomenInLeadership #PsychologyInTheWorkplace

🎉 🎂 APRIL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS 🎂 🎉 This month, we celebrated the birthdays of all our team members born in April. It was balloons, cakes, gifts, and most importantly, the warmth of team spirit in the air. The joy was doubled as we indulged in a fun and vigorous game of Paper Toss, breaking away from the daily work routine schedule. It was amazing to see everyone participating with so much enthusiasm and laughter, putting their paper-aiming skills to test. We believe in creating memories at work, and what could be better than celebrating the gift of life itself? And not to forget, milestone celebrations like these definitely add to the motivation and productivity at the workplace. Team bonding activities like this paper toss game infuse an essence of togetherness and enhance our team strength. The echoes of cheer, determination, and friendly competitiveness filled our workspace, igniting a spirited vibe. The celebration was concluded with a captivating taste of delicious snacks, as everybody gathered together to share birthday wishes, stories, and food. Such moments act as a perfect filler of joy, giving everyone a chance to interact beyond work, fostering improved connections and team synergy. Here's to all our April-born stars! May each day of your life be filled with happiness, success, and prosperity. Join us in wishing them a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! #HappyBirthday #TeamCelebration #AprilBirthdays #WorkplaceFun #EmployeeEngagement #TeamBuildingActivity #CompanyCulture

Finding Joy Together: A Message for the Team This year has been tough, and it’s okay if the holidays feel different. Maybe the usual traditions don’t bring the same joy, or the idea of celebrating feels overwhelming. That’s completely okay. Instead of focusing on how things used to be, let’s find joy in the little things—a kind word, a small win, or a shared laugh. It doesn’t have to be big to matter. something to reflect on : 1. What small moment has brought you joy recently? 2. How can we support each other in finding those moments? 3. What’s one simple thing we can do to make this season brighter for ourselves or others? Let’s lead with grace—for ourselves and each other. Small joys add up, and together, we can create something meaningful, even in a challenging year. I think this is a lovely connective post from Steven Bartlett. We FEEL bad before we start making positive changes that makes us feel better. The role of cortisol (our stress hormone) in this case, makes us feel bad because it’s prompting us to do something differently. A different job that’s maybe more fulfilling? More social connection? A more balanced life of work, rest, play? Our chemicals are messengers so when we pay attention to the messages and then take action rather than ignoring them, one day you’ll look back and realise that feeling low was the pivotal turning point… where it all started. Want some help figuring it all out and getting some clarity? Email kirstie@kirstiesalter.co.uk and set up a free consultation.
Not so many years ago, I was working in a LateRooms.com call centre in Manchester on Christmas Day, booking people into hotel rooms. I went home after that shift to a small room in mossside, on my own. I remember feeling pretty low as I scrolled through Instagram, seeing how seemingly perfect everyone else’s Christmas Day appeared. It only seemed to magnify the areas of my life that were lacking, making me feel inadequate, unfortunate, and sad. To those of you who don’t feel great today for any reason: I know exactly how you feel. It’s important to realise that life is lived in seasons, and this is just one season of many in your life. This season will serve to make you feel even more grateful and fortunate when you move into the next one, filled with many of the beautiful things you’re hoping for. Life can change so quickly. Even within a year, things can look unrecognisably different. I am so thankful for all of my seasons - they all gave me important gifts I could not see at the time. 🎁
