On November 2007, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed 20 February as World Day of Social Justice! The observance of this day aims to remind us, each year, of the need to build fairer, more equitable societies. There are five main principles of social justice that are paramount to understanding the concept better. Namely, these are access to resources, equity, participation, diversity, and human rights. #humanrights #socialjustice #diversityandinclusion #equity

This year's International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) theme is No One Left Behind: Equality, Freedom and Justice For All. ✊ As hate against 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities rises here in Canada and elsewhere in the world, we know that only through solidarity for each other can we create a world without injustice, where no one is left behind. 🌈 Check out our Linktree for resources and presentations on the discrimination faced by 2S/LGBTQIA+ people in Canada, and what our communities are doing to combatting it: https://linktr.ee/thecbrc

🌍 Human Rights Milestone - July 5th 🌍 Did you know that July 5th holds a special place in the history of human rights? On this day in 1948, the United Nations began drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document, adopted later that year on December 10th, has been a cornerstone in promoting equality, justice, and human dignity across the globe. Why It Matters: The Declaration was the first international agreement on the basic principles of human rights and has since influenced numerous laws and policies worldwide. It consists of 30 articles detailing an individual’s “basic rights and fundamental freedoms” and is seen as a common standard for all peoples and nations. Human Rights for All: The Declaration emphasizes that all humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights. It’s a reminder of the ongoing work needed to protect these rights for everyone, everywhere. Let’s take a moment today to appreciate the strides made in human rights and reflect on how we can continue to promote equality and justice in our communities. #HumanRights #Equality #Justice #GlobalImpact #outlookaustralia
