This Pride Month, BILH celebrates all the patients, employees, and allies that make up our vibrant LGBTQIA+ community – in living color. We are honored to serve our communities through award-winning LGBTQIA+ friendly programs and our growing gender-affirming healthcare services. Now more than ever, we stand in solidarity to collectively work to maintain safe, inclusive, welcoming environments that reduce barriers to the LGBTQIA+ community's access to high-quality, equitable care. Happy Pride Month! 🌈💙

"We really need all kinds of advocates, allies, professionals, everyday people, citizens, to be involved in building inclusive, accessible communities...if we are all really striving for meaningful inclusion, and belonging in people with disabilities, there are many perspectives that can advance that." says Kelly Nye-Lengerman in the latest BoggsCast. This week’s Global Access Stories highlight something that’s been on my mind a lot lately—the importance of having disabled people at the table when decisions are being made. Some of the stories show the positive impact when we are included, while others serve as a reminder of what happens when we’re not. It’s frustrating when non-disabled people don’t take the time to really listen to what disabled folks are trying to share. But one way we can all make a different choice is by engaging with these stories and amplifying the voices that often get overlooked. Check out this week’s roundup and take a few moments to reflect on the importance of disabled voices being heard. Making space for these perspectives can lead to real, lasting change. https://lnkd.in/grFyMjUJ #DisabilityInclusion #AccessibilityForAll #DisabilityAdvocacy #DiversityAndInclusion #DisabledVoices #LeadershipDevelopment #InclusiveWorkplaces #News

🏠HCBS encompass a range of tailored supports and services that enable disabled individuals to live independently in their communities. From personal care to transportation and healthcare, these services promote autonomy and improve quality of life outside of institutional settings. By advocating for inclusive policies and practices, we can ensure that everyone has access to the supports they need to thrive. Here are 4 essential ways disabled individuals can access Housing and Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) to enhance their quality of life: Ensuring Fair Housing Access: It's crucial to push for housing options that cater to diverse needs, ensuring everyone has a place that supports their independence and inclusion. Getting Around: Accessible transportation is key for getting to work, healthcare, and activities that make community life fulfilling and accessible. Staying Active and Healthy: Participating in recreation and healthcare services helps maintain physical and mental well-being, making it easier to be part of the community. Pushing for Inclusivity: Advocating for inclusive policies and practices helps create communities where everyone feels valued and supported. Let's keep pushing for accessibility and inclusion together! 💪 #disabilitypride #DisabilityRights #Inclusion #Accessibility

It is really important to report on Disability and Ethnicity Pay Gap as well as Gender. It gives you a great insight into where people are within your organisation, it holds you accountable and it demonstrates transparency. At Guide Dogs I started to do this three years ago as part of the organisations commitment to Equity for all. #DiversityEquityAndInclusion #PayGapReporting
We want a future where disabled people have the same opportunities at work as everyone. Where barriers are removed. Attitudes are transformed. Where disabled people can thrive. An equal future is possible, but it’s going to take all of us.

Neurodivergent | TEDx Speaker | CQ® Certified Facilitator | Inclusion Manager | Inclusive Career Development | Personal & Professional Growth Mindset| Project Management| Accredited Dyslexic Champion
Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending the International Nurses Day celebration with Andrew small, Jonathan Livingstone, where we had the opportunity to present the See ME First Campaign and our six staff networks. The See Me First initiative is a staff-led effort at Whittington Health to promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity. It sends a clear message that Whittington Health is a safe, non-judgemental space where all Black, Asian, and minority ethnic staff are treated with dignity and respect. Launched in October 2020, this campaign is part of their commitment to having zero tolerance for discrimination of any form. It ensures that staff who experience such behavior are supported in speaking up and challenging it in a safe manner. At Barts Health NHS Trust, we have embraced the See Me First campaign as an opportunity to renew our commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion as part of our WeBelong Strategy. While the campaign founders primarily focused on race, we have expanded our focus to work intersectionally across all areas of difference. The See Me First campaign at Barts Health Trust encourages us to see each other first, focusing on the individual rather than judging them based on their differences such as race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, accent, and more. The engagement and sign-ups we received at the event were overwhelming, with colleagues expressing curiosity, gratitude, and excitement to be part of a campaign that aligns with their personal values and commitment to making a difference. The quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - 'people should not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character' - truly encapsulates the essence of the See Me First Campaign. If you are interested in learning more about the campaign, its background, and the founders, please reach out to Delia Mills or contactus@seemefirst.co.uk #SeeMeFirstCampaign #EqualityandInclusion #DiversityandBelonging #WeBelongTogether #InclusiveSpaces #NoPlaceforDiscrimination #DignityandRespect #EndDiscriminationNow

🌟 Day 4: Embracing Allyship and Advocacy Across Dimensions of Diversity 🌟 Today, we shine a spotlight on the transformative power of allyship and advocacy in fostering inclusive and supportive environments across diverse dimensions of identity. By standing in solidarity with marginalized communities, amplifying their voices, and advocating for equity and justice, we can collectively strive towards a more inclusive and equitable workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive. Allyship calls upon us to actively listen, learn, and support individuals from underrepresented groups, acknowledging our privilege and leveraging it to dismantle systemic barriers and foster meaningful change. By fostering empathetic connections, taking meaningful action, and centering the voices of those at the margins, we can create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected for their unique identities and experiences. Advocacy expands our impact by pushing beyond allyship to actively challenge biases, advocate for policies that promote diversity and inclusion, and drive systemic change within our organizations and communities. By harnessing our collective influence and resources to create more inclusive policies, practices, and cultures, we can pave the way for a future where diversity is celebrated, equity is upheld, and inclusion is the norm. As we delve into discussions on Embracing Allyship and Advocacy Across Dimensions of Diversity today, let's commit to being agents of change, allies for equity, and advocates for inclusivity within our spheres of influence. Together, let's amplify diverse voices, challenge inequities, and foster a workplace culture where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. 💬💼 #Allyship #Advocacy #DiversityandInclusion #Equity #InclusiveWorkplace
