The United States PT world is stuck in an "orthopedic" mindset. As a clinical community, we have been indoctrinated to follow the referral cycle, creating dependency on patient flow and reducing professional and decision-making autonomy. With that in mind, most of the US patient population continues to struggle with pain, mobility loss, and excessive exposure to low-value, high-cost interventions. Yet, there is a way out. Exploring clinical care pathways away from convoluted orthopedic referral circuit into the need-based, early PT exposure pathway.

lots of talk. maybe to accommodate the greater frequency of "no pre-auth needed, but despite that" denials even though you have a gold card, cause the hundredth decimal point is incorrect on the icd-10 code"...so less pre auth and more "post-payment reviews" and clawbacks. the new norm will be maximizing post claim bureaucracy for profit. is it legal to create an IPA (independent physician association) to collectively contract and despite offers, refuse to negotiate? this would effectively create an open market....what about calling it the TEXAS IPA.

Is this a bate and switch? Just a way of cutting other providers off so they can negotiate harder with a smaller pool of providers Is this too good to be true? They say the right things and fix the wrong things I usually think things like this, never end up fixing the real pain points the surgeons have. #surgeons? any thoughts? Benjamin Schwartz, MD, MBA I would love your opinion

I talk with #orthopedicsurgeons and ACME Ortho Reps frequently about the Ortho Broker Model. The overwhelming majority of people say it makes sense. Here is what Surgeons like about the model... -Company Agnostic and Surgeon Focused -Ability to deal with ONE trusted Rep -Ability to find specific solutions -Flexibility to pivot as needed Here is what Ortho Reps like about the model... -Ability to advocate for our surgeon customers with industry in a way that is not possible if ALL your income is tied to ONE company -Flexibility to serve customers in a different way -Ability to diversify revenue streams -Ability to run an actual business -Flexibility to pivot as needed The biggest challenges I see preventing this model from becoming more popular... -Limited vendor hospital contracts -Surgeons don't have an Ortho Rep they trust enough -Nothing happens quickly in our industry

3️⃣ things I wish I knew before becoming an independent device broker… ✅ Start with the People 🤝 When choosing a new team, company, opportunity, etc start with the people. It doesn’t matter how cool the product is, or what the commission rates are, if the people are untrustworthy jerks. Life’s too short to do business with people you don’t like or trust. ✅ Everything is Negotiable ☝️🙅♂️ The contract you receive simply constitutes an offer. The terms of the contract, commission rates, non-competes, etc are all potentially negotiable. If you’re bringing something of value to the company it’s fair to discuss a deal that works for both sides. ✅ It’s Not Easy 😓😓😓 It’s probably gonna take longer than you think to effectively make the transition. It’s also gonna be more challenging than you anticipate. That said, the freedom that comes with building your own business is 100% worth it for the right person. #medicaldevicebroker #medicaldevicesales #orthopedics

We are excited to shine the spotlight on Dr. John Levin, Paradigm Medical Director. Dr. Levin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in lower extremity, foot, and ankle reconstruction and is considered one of the most renowned surgeons in his field. Unbeknownst to him, Dr. Levin had been the treating physician on Paradigm cases for thirty years. He shared how it was always a pleasure taking cases from Network Manager, Carol Sears, because he never felt he had to jump through hoops to do what was best for the patient. “As a physician, having a partner like Paradigm allows for the delivery of high-quality care with a focus on outcomes, where cost isn't a limiting factor. Partnering with quality providers who are evidence-based and outcomes-driven is the way medicine should be practiced,” shared Dr. Levin. Wanting to take a step back from his clinical practice, Dr. Levin recognized the seamless behind-the-scenes work and philosophical alignment with our mission and realized that the collaboration with Paradigm made the most sense for the next phase of his career. “It’s been a learning curve, but everyone has been so incredible and open to listening to other viewpoints. There is no ego. Everyone is so focused on outcomes and doing what is best for the patient.” We think he said it best, “We’re here to protect and promote, not deny and delay, and that’s a breath of fresh air for a treating physician.” Welcome to the team, Dr. Levin! #employeespotlight #outcomes #workerscomp #workerscompensation
