I used to work at a couple different labor unions and think you should look into working with unions on identifying candidates from their memberships who can run.

3moThe reality is that even having someone just to fill the slot on the ballot who doesn't intend to do any work to actually get elected is still important. Not only does a full ballot help people begin to believe again that their vote matters, but it forces previously unopposed candidates to spend money which brings them more to the attention of voters who start to make a more educated vote.
