Hey Guys, as I continue on the interaction challenge Kindly remember to Share your work no matter how little. Day 17/100 #100daysofinteractiondesign Figma Micro Interaction Design in Figma We are looking at what micro-interaction is and how it helps our Designs. Microinteractions are the tiny, but important, moments where users interact with your design. They're often subtle animations, sounds, or feedback that enhance the user experience (UX). Here's how micro-interactions can supercharge your designs: 1. Clarity and Guidance: Imagine a button that changes color when you hover over it. This simple micro-interaction lets users know it's clickable and what will happen when interacting with it. 2. Feedback and Progress: Filling out a form? A progress bar that fills as you complete steps lets users know they're on the right track and motivates them to finish. 3. Efficiency and Delight: Swiping right to delete an email? A satisfying animation can make this common action feel efficient and even enjoyable. By focusing on these small details, micro-interactions can make your designs: More intuitive and easier to use More engaging and enjoyable More polished and professional They're like the finishing touches that take a good design and make it great. #100daysofinteractiondesign #interactiondesign #figmadesign #uxui #design #uidesign #uiuxdesign #ui

Day 12 of My 30-Day UI/UX Challenge: Delving into Microinteractions Hello LinkedIn community, Day 12 of my UI/UX journey has been all about microinteractions. These subtle animations and responses can significantly enhance the user experience by providing feedback, guiding tasks, and adding a touch of delight to interactions. 🌟✨ Understanding Microinteractions: Microinteractions are small, contained animations that occur in response to user actions. They play a crucial role in improving usability and adding personality to a design. Today, I focused on: Purpose of Microinteractions: Learning how microinteractions can provide feedback, indicate status changes, and guide users through tasks. They help make the interface feel more responsive and intuitive. Designing Effective Microinteractions: Understanding the principles of designing effective microinteractions, including simplicity, context, and timing. Ensuring that animations are purposeful and not overly distracting is key. Practical Application: I applied these principles to my ongoing design project, incorporating microinteractions to enhance user experience. Here’s what I worked on: Button Animations: Adding subtle animations to buttons when hovered over or clicked, providing immediate feedback to users. Form Interactions: Creating microinteractions for form elements, such as input fields and validation messages, to guide users through the form completion process. Navigation Feedback: Implementing animations for navigation elements, such as menu items and tabs, to indicate active states and transitions. Microinteractions may be small, but they have a big impact on the overall user experience. They make interfaces feel more alive and engaging, and I'm excited to see how they enhance my design project. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue this exciting journey! #UIDesign #UXDesign #LearningJourney #DesignChallenge #Microinteractions #Figma

Earlier this year, I decided to eliminate a weak-spot in my technical skill stack: art. Specifically UX/UI design. I'm a chronic engineer who has consulted and written many business applications and tools. Branding and usability design is something I used to tell my clients I'd have to bring in a 3rd party in order to fulfill. I've never been an artist, and decided to make a change. The rules of good design principles for UX/UI are the same, whether you're designing for business-oriented projects, tooling software, or video games. The major differences between business application UX/UI and video games are: 1. the type of audience 2. the degree of engagement the "feedback-loop" ought to achieve 3. the number of target devices (and resolutions) to consider in your design Naturally a business tool ought to reflect the business brand while video games have more creative, immersive interfaces. But all other principles of accessibility, ease-of-use, and memorability remain the same. Recently, I completed a summer course taught by a veteran in the industry who taught us how to use Figma, how to design mockups, and how to use Design Principles in order to conceive our own UX/UI widgets. Of course this is an over-simplification. We learned how to identify our target audiences and various methods of testing our design. Last but not least, how to design inclusive UX/UI via color-blind tests and other accessibility tests. I've already seen a drastic improvement with some of the contractual work I'm a part of. Being capable of designing UX/UI on mobile and desktop applications while being able to mostly, if not completely, transfer those rules over to the framework I'm working in is liberating. I'm attaching a link to my final project on Beehance. I chose to design an FPS UX/UI for all audiences. Typically FPS games are violent. Can a general-audience and *less* violent FPS exist? I thought so. And I went out to achieve that while keeping in mind not everyone can see colors the same way.
