Last week, the Storm King Network partnered with Refilliate Inc. to host a great Loyalty and Referrals roundtable. Here are five of my takeaways from the discussion... 🛍 Exclusive Experiences: Brands who sell through wholesale partners often struggle to access gated customer data. Larger competitors might have shipping advantages. High-growth DTC shops can compete by tapping into their unique brand story and offering limited-edition or free products and experiences only available to their DTC loyalty members. These strategies can enhance the perception of the brand, drive loyalty, and keep margins down. 🖥 Omnichannel Integration: Modern loyalty programs are increasingly omnichannel. Integrating mobile wallets and using push notifications help cut through the noise of email and SMS, ensuring that valuable rewards and messages reach the customer. 🎂 Community Building: Loyalty programs are becoming platforms for community engagement. Brands should consider Facebook groups, curated physical events, referral programs, birthday & anniversary mentions, and donation initiatives. Loyalty programs don’t necessarily need costlier elements like discounts or free shipping if they can build a community of brand fanatics. 💬 Leveraging Feedback: Incorporating customer feedback and reviews into loyalty programs enhances the customer experience and increases ROI on paid marketing and SEO. 🙃 Flip the System on its Head: Consider building a program for low frequency shoppers with high-value potential.
