DCAS electrifying contracts for ride-share and car-share. DCAS today announced the completion of four electric contracts to cover short term vehicle use including ride-share with Revel, car-share with Zipcar, and short-term (daily, weekly, monthly) vehicle rentals with Hertz and Joulez. These contracts join an existing contract with United Rentals and offer a supply of all-electric sedans, SUVs, vans, and pickups as options when we need to do short term rentals. This is the city's first requirement contract for ride-share. DCAS has offered car share through Zipcar since 2012 but now these units can be zero emissions electric options. Well, It's another SNOW filled day here at Richard Lucas Chevrolet. Now picture this. You're a fleet manager or business owner with a team of 9 employees, each in their own company vehicle. You're curious who decided to just stay home, who was up and out early, who is going to the job sites etc. You probably have to just call each employee individually to see where their at, and answer all the above questions. Then, you have to take their word for it. Now, we like to believe all our employees are good and honest. But let's be honest with ourselves. Some times employees tell a fib, or over exaggerate, or whatever the case may be. With our Fleet Management Services Program, and OnStar OVI, your job just got a whole lot EASIER. You would simply open the App on your phone, or the dashboard on your laptop/computer, and you can view in real time on a map exactly where each vehicle is and when it arrived. In addition to all that, you received a notification that truck # 3 has low tire pressure in 2 tires. You received a notification that truck # 6 has a check engine light on, and exactly what code is showing. This way you know if it's urgent, and to tell your driver to head to one of the MANY shops YOU approved right away, or that it's something minor and to just schedule an appointment for an off day. You also see that truck # 8, who is supposed to be off and out of service today, is out on the road for some reason. That's just 1 portion of our Fleet Management Services Program with OnStar.
