A Trial By Fire: Boeing’s New Chapter Under Kelly Ortberg
As @Kelly Ortberg steps into the role of CEO at Boeing, he faces a formidable challenge that would test even the most seasoned leader.
Ortberg inherits a company grappling with significant hurdles: a high-stakes labor strike, ongoing manufacturing issues, and the high-profile predicament of astronauts stranded on the Starliner.
These trials aren't merely operational; they are critical moments that will define his leadership and Boeing's trajectory. The labor strike underscores deep-rooted tensions and the need for effective negotiation and empathy. The manufacturing troubles highlight the urgent need for process improvements and innovation. And the Starliner situation demands swift problem-solving and communication skills.
Ortberg's approach to these challenges will be pivotal in steering Boeing back to stability and growth. As we watch this new chapter unfold, we’re reminded of the resilience and strategic vision required to lead a major aerospace giant through turbulent times.
Here’s to hoping that his leadership not only navigates these rough skies but also charts a course toward a brighter future for Boeing.

2moGreat place with an amazing aviation history. They have a fantastic historical section where vintage aircraft are being re-built. One of the highlights is the incredible Pratt and Whitney W 4360 engine used in the Martin Mauler. What an absolute monster of an engine. I think it produced ~3,000 hp in its early stage and eventually over 4,000 hp. Also known as thee "Wasp Major".
