Couldn't agree more with my colleague Jason Keller, law school does not teach you about the business of law. (Also, so nervous the whole time watching this that he is going to miss his escalator exit... way to stick the landing!) At MLA's Hire an Esquire we see this every day with the small and mid-size firms that we work with who are often looking for guidance on how to hire strategically. Connect with Whitney Norris if you are wondering how legal staffing can help you grow your law firm!

Partner at Bansal & Bansal Advocates LLP | Advocate & Legal Strategist (20+ Years) | Criminal, Civil & Corporate Litigation | On a mission to empower 5000+ legal minds by 2024
In criminal cases, the standard is "Beyond Reasonable Doubt." In civil cases, it's "Preponderance of Probabilities" – meaning the claim is more likely true than not. Interestingly, sections 138 and 139 of the Negotiable Instruments Act allow the defense to use this civil standard to refute liability. So, when preparing a case, remember: the power of proof lies not just in evidence but in the nuances of human perception. Our job is to challenge assumptions, reveal hidden patterns, and ensure proper justice is served. Advising top-tier associates in achieving career goals | Managing Director at MLA, the #1 National Legal Recruiter | Southern California lateral market expert
Law school equips students to think critically and precisely about the law. However, it falls short in providing guidance on the business aspects of practicing law and navigating career opportunities and challenges. Many of my candidates realize the need for high-level career insights 2-5 years into their legal careers, with no one to turn to and no way to right the ship. That's when associate recruiters at Major, Lindsey & Africa add the most value. Thanks, Jason Keller. #MLAGlobal #Associate #BigLaw

Law students are busy, constantly moving and often a little stressed because of the countless hours they put into the work that is fundamental to the services the lawyer provides.
