Last year, ARIA (Ayrshire Rural & Islands Ambition Fund) commissioned SCOTO to conduct a comprehensive audit of #communitytourism in the region.
The audit identified 97 initiatives across the region and the development of Ayrshire-based case studies. The partnership also included three Valley-based Press Pause workshops – each engaging three communities in North, South and East Ayrshire.

Empowering local communities and addressing land use changes are crucial for restoring Namibia woodlands. Despite numerous initiatives aimed at supporting communities, the impact on livelihoods remains limited. Additionally, many initiatives tend to overlook the critical issue of land use changes, which are key drivers of deforestation and forest degradation in Namibia. The other problem is that we do not even fully understand what we are trying to protect, we need more support to understand our unique landscapes.
