Launching new Asian logistics Corridor by container shipping lines New #logistics routes for container #transportation are being formed by the world's major #shipping lines in the Asian region in such a way that the routes of Southeast Asia, India, the Persian Gulf, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia are supposed to be connected to each other. According to Alphaliner Institute; French company CMA CGM announced that it will launch a new route from Southeast Asia, India and the Persian Gulf, which will actually form a direct connection between Southeast #Asia, the west coast of #India and the #MiddleEast, in this direction, in addition to sea routes from other parts of the world. #Transportation will also help. Of course, this new service introduced as VGI will also serve Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia on its way. According to this report, a new service will be formed by Chinese shipping companies named VGX, which will include #China, #UAE, #SaudiArabia and Oman. Another recently launched alliance is the connection between the cities of Shanghai China, Hong Kong, Busan South Korea called SITC, which will be launched by "One" company. In general, with the formation of new routes Singapore, Nawa Shiva, Mundra, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo and Singapore will be connected in one route.

This inaugural call initiates a comprehensive expansion plan between Pan Marine and ESL, aiming to increase the frequency of vessel arrivals in their weekly service and enhance the port's operational capabilities. Which routes are the busiest in the world? 👇   ▶ 1. English Channel (Europe-UK) This channel connects the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, providing a vital trade link between the United Kingdom and continental Europe. This is the busiest shipping lane in the world with more than 500 ships passing through this channel daily. The Dover Strait between England and France is the narrowest part of the channel.   ▶ 2. The Malacca Strait (Intra-Asia) Located between the Indonesian island of Sumatra and the Malay peninsula, this is the primary trade route between the Pacific and the Indian Ocean, connecting the major Asian economies like India, China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, and South Korea. More than 90,000 vessels use this route annually.   ▶ 3. The Suez Canal (Europe-Asia) This canal is located in Egypt and is one of the world’s most popular trade routes connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. This is the fastest and most direct link between Europe and Asia, shortening the journey by several weeks compared to the alternative route around the southern tip of Africa. Over 20,000 ships pass the Suez Canal every year.   ▶ 4. The Panama Canal (US-Asia) This is a crucial connection between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, enabling ships to avoid the lengthy and hazardous voyage around Cape Horn at the southern tip of South America. This is the most significant trade route between the US and Asia. Around 15,000 vessels pass through the canal annually.                ▶ 5. The Danish Straits (Russia-Europe) The Danish Straits connect the Baltic Sea to the North Sea. The Great Belt and Little Belt straits are under Danish jurisdiction, while Oresund and the Fehmarn Belt are jointly governed by Sweden and Germany. Vietnam boasts three seaports in Top 50 largest container seaports worldwide Vietnam boasts three seaports listed among the Top 50 largest container ports globally, namely Ho Chi Minh City Port, Hai Phong Port and Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port. In the Lloyd's 2023 list, which ranked ports by the volume of container traffic represented in million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU), the port of HCM City secured the 23rd position, slipping one spot from the previous year’s list. With 106 routes in Asia, one to America and two to Europe, the 160-year port handled over 7.9 million TEU in 2022, down 0.6% year-on-year. The ETA (Estimated time of arrival) of the vessel is 2200 hrs. With a capacity of 23,992 containers, the Ever Ace was the leader of the world's largest class of ships before the MSC Irina. Previously, the operations of this ship were conducted at the Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT), where China holds a majority share. The transition of operations to ECT underscores the terminal's advanced infrastructure and enhanced operational capabilities. This event signifies a monumental achievement for the SLPA, as this will be the largest container ship handling in its history. The arrival of the Ever Ace at ECT is more than just a significant operational milestone, it marks the beginning of a new era for the SLPA. This long-awaited moment demonstrates the port's readiness to handle the largest vessels in global shipping, positioning Port of Colombo as a key player in the international maritime industry.
