In case of a storm and power line down near you, this is something that your life may depend on! If not in danger, ie car on fire, Stay put, do not move, till help arrives. In case the car is on fire, Do not place one foot out of the car on the ground and then next. Best would be either place something thick as insulator on the ground to walk on or place both feet at same exact time and next to each other. You need to keep both feet on the ground and near each other, in order to avoid creating potential difference between right side and left side to create current path through your heart. I would say, if you have wood or fiberglass stick use it as a cane with right hand, while you hold up your left foot and move with right foot. Do not let current to flow through your left side, to knock off your heart, only takes 10 mA (Mili amps) through the heart to kill you, and at any voltage over 110V, you are almost there!

Happy Monday! Here is this week’s :60 Seconds for Safety message, brought to you by our parent company, MYR Group. The size and power of heavy equipment and motor vehicles means that any incidents they are involved in are likely to be more serious accidents. Careful, detailed inspection of heavy equipment is a crucial safety step. Here are some important details to look over: • Is the back-up alarm, blinker, horn, or other alarm/signal features working properly? • Are the front, rear, side, or external attachment lights working? • Is the fuel level sufficient for the work ahead? If it’s not and you need to refuel, be sure there is a fire extinguisher nearby. • Are the brakes and steering system in good working order? • Are all connection points, including bolts and screws, secure and in good condition? A thorough inspection and questioning attitude help ensure that heavy equipment will be a help, not a hindrance, to a safe and effective workday. At E.S. Boulos, Safety is Life. #ESBoulos #Safety #HereforYou #EmpoweringPeople #CreatingConnections
