From Stephanie's first role two decades ago as loan operations manager to her current role as Consumer Lending Specialist, Stephanie Wilkie has always been focused on supporting the customer experience at Mississippi Land Bank. "I am blessed to work for an organization that is proud to be both faith and family oriented," Stephanie said. "I’m grateful for all of the knowledge I’ve gained by learning from others within the association, all while serving people in our community." As consumer lending specialist, Stephanie oversees all of our consumer loans including origination, processing, closing, documentation, and loan accounting. Housed in our administration office in Senatobia, she remains a vital piece to our lending staff and works closely with our branch offices. When she can catch a break from work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new places, trying unique foods, and experiencing different cultures. Our Chief Apprasier Tyler Mullins participated in the Association Leadership Program last week, which is hosted by our funding bank, the Farm Credit Bank of Texas. The group of delegates toured the Federal Farm Credit Funding Corporation in New Jersey, explored the Financial District in New York, and visited legislators on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. “The trip was an excellent opportunity to learn about a side of the Farm Credit System that many never get to see," Tyler said. "It's an honor to meet with our legislators and speak on behalf of our associations about the issues our stockholders face. Additionally, the trip gave me an opportunity to network with other Farm Credit employees across our district. I am so grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow." On the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, we are reminded of the courage and devotion exhibited on this day in 1944. At the time, freedom and democracy were under assault around the world. But on that day, hope had landed on the beaches of Normandy when 73,000 Americans joined the Allied forces to carry out one of the greatest military missions of all time — a mission that would become known as D-Day. We do not take this act of service and sacrifice lightly and are forever indebted to the Greatest Generation. Every day is a privilege to live in the United States of America.

From his start as a loan officer trainee 20 years ago to his current role as Chief Credit Officer today, Bobby Spinks has seen a lot of change during his tenure at Mississippi Land Bank. Helping us grow from $265mm to $1 billion in assets, Bobby says there has been many victories along the way. “I’m most proud of my customers’ successes,” Bobby said. “Seeing the realization of sacrifice and hard work materialize in them owning their own place is a proud moment. It may only be topped when I can hand those same customers a PAID in FULL promissory note.” Not only has Bobby seen MS Land Bank and our customers grow over the past two decades, he himself has grown up in the organization. “I started clueless, fresh out of college at age 22. Being able to share the knowledge that I’ve gained through the years with the guys in the field is a blessing. This experience has allowed me to continue my passion: helping our customers reach their goals and keep the family farming traditions alive from one generation to the next.” Please join us in congratulating Bobby on this accomplishment! Thank you for 20 years of service, Bobby!

This week, we want to recognize Chelsi Smith for 10 years of dedication to the Mississippi Land Bank mission! Chelsi has held several titles during her time with us. She began as an intern while in college and then started full-time as a Credit Analyst in 2014. She spent some time as a loan officer in our Senatobia branch, then made the transition to our administration office as audit coordinator. Then this past fall, she took the title of VP Governance and Operations, where she oversees policy for the Association. Chelsi said that working with the Mississippi Land Bank Board while in her current position has been inspiring. "They all have a love for this organization. The time they commit is not small", said Smith. "It is particularly inspiring to me for those who come from generations of farming, and they feel they are doing their part to ensure consistent, sound financing is available for future generations of their family." Congratulations Chelsi on reaching this milestone in your career!
